Every time the power goes out, the unit will not turn back on unless you unplug it and plug it back in. So much for a vacation during the rainy season. I would come home to a cold sick turtle. The amount of heat that is released from the top of the light seems hotter than what is released underneath where it matters. This is an expensive unit to have electrical issues right away....in my opinion. I did not try to reach out to the seller before this review, but I am honestly tired of buying products that are not up to par and having to go through the return/ refund process. It is inconvenient and leaves animals in poor conditions unless you purchase another unit before going through the return process. If sellers would produce excellent products out of the gate, or be honest about possible issues that may occur, the consumers would not have to leave negative feedback. UPDATE: The seller reached out after the 30-day window for a return and provided me with a full refund. The customer service team member was very professional and their follow-through was exceptional. I will be purchasing more items from Reptizoo now that I know they value their customers and provide high-quality customer service. I hope that the next product I buy will live up to these same standards.

Okay but unless you specifically need a no light heat bulb and a dual hood and you want an all inclusive kit that includes bulbs there must be better and more customizable options with buying your own hoods and bulbs. Also if you can deal with having a red or blue heat bulb there's so many more options of dual hood kits. This was the only one I found that had a no light heat bulb and a uva uvb sunlight bulb included with the hood. Honestly it's worth it to just do your research and buy the hood and bulbs separately. I'm buying this for my upcoming whites tree frogs because I do not run the heat or ac in my apartment as it is ancient and I am in Oregon so I need very adjustable heating as we run very hot and very cold here, I also have a 24 by 18 by 36 so it's quite large and very tall so I decided on 100 watts and i've yet to see if that's acceptable I think it is but I did also purchase the dimmer from this same brand which by the way does not work with the sunlight bulb only the heating bulb. I purchased this as "like new" and the uvb uva sunlight bulb would literally only turn on 50% of the time, it was completely random. The manufacturer support did nothing for me but luckily amazon support helped me out and i'm waiting for the brand new replacement. UPDATE: The replacement came and had the exact same issue, I figured out that it was the uvb bulb causing the issues not the lamp itself because I tested both sockets with a regular lightbulb from my house. The heating bulb works fine for now. Amazon was nice enough to credit me to buy a new replacement bulb. Definitely buying the bulb from another brand.

The switch will not turn back on until the bulb is cooled down, so give it a minute before trying to turn back on.

Received what appeared to be an open package. It was in pretty bad shape. Bulbs were protected in styrofoam and were fine. Lamp had a few scratches & a small dent which we easily smoothed out. The scratches I touched up w a black permanent marker and I’m fine with it. Just be aware it does scratch easy. Just plugged it in and seems to be working fine so far. Fits nicely on top of the metal hinged screened aquarium lid on my 55 gallon tank. Will keep an eye on the temp to see if it gets too hot & if so I’ll get a hanger for it to add distance. Overall I like that it came with the bulbs & that there are two separate power switches, one for each bulb. The price was also right when purchased. Seems like it will hold up so we’ll see.

I love the lamp my reptile loves it to easy to set up

This combined with a T5 10.0 UVB keeps the basking area at 105° at about 10 inches from the hammock, cave or drift wood; even through a screened lid on my 4x2x2 cage. No issues so far, beardie is nice and happy.

When it’s working it’s great! The uv light socket seems to be a little touchy. You have to have the bulb just right inside of the socket for it to work. The heat side seems to be just fine. As long as you hold your mouth right and the light stays on the snake is happy and basking in the uvs

The socket is 120v but the bulbs are 220v, and my electricity is 220... Makes no sense and no ceramic heater that I can find with 120v
