Rear Seat Release for 2009–2025 Ford F-150, F-250, F-350, F-450 & Raptor – SuperCab & SuperCrew - The Original, Made in USA

This handy gadget makes you wonder why Ford doesn't just add this to their truck from the factory. There is a latch that allows the rear driver side rear seat back to be pulled forward but no easy way to get to it, this solves that issue. Granted, there isn't a ton of room back there, but there's enough to store a tool kit or similar items. The installation is pretty straight forward and can be done quickly using basically just one tool. The trickiest part is initially finding and pulling up on the latch pin so you can put the seat back down to install this item. The end of the latch pin is on the right hand side of the latch mechanism facing the rear passenger door (circled in red in the attached picture). Don't try and look for it on the left hand side of the latch. Once you locate and pull up on the latch pin using the closed end of any smaller wrench (I used a 10mm but you can use pretty much any size) the rest is easy. You remove the two factory torx bolts holding down the latch assembly, attach the supplied strap to the pin, install the frame of this item over the factory latch mechanism, put the latch assembly back in it's spot and reinstall the bolts. That's it. It's important to remember that this item goes on top of the existing latch mechanism not under it. There is a long notch that allows you to slide the frame over the factory latch. The fin looking portion of this item butts up close to the end of the pin so the strap doesn't slide off the end. The materials are sturdy and of high quality. Pretty simple concept but a great addition to your truck.

I can now use an extra 66% of my rear seat! It’s a PITA to get the rear seat unlocked and folded forward, and this kit is easy to install. I’m really glad I bought it, there’s a lot of room behind the seat that is now available to me. My 2017 XL came with a seat unlock only on the pax side rear seat. This allows me to now use the storage behind the entire rear seat. I added some 550 cord to the provided strap so I don’t have to fish for it. High quality, easy to install, very functional. Highly recommend

It was really easy to install. I had to lubricate the latch on my car but once I did that it worked great. The product is well made and engineered to fit perfectly. Their video is informative, moves at the right pace, and provides helpful tips for installation. In the end the extra space it provides is really useful.

Does its purpose, really wish the pull cord was 3-4 inches longer. I have really big hands and I have a really hard time grabbing the one that’s with the unit. I thinking about adding a piece of rope to it so I can grab it. Then that that, if I get ahold of it, it unlatched the seat and allows to come forward. This is the reason for the four star review. I’m 6’5 with big hands. Maybe you have smaller hands and have no issues. The product is made of metal, very good quality. I’ll definitely keep it so if you’re on the fence, give it a shot, it definitely serves a purpose that Ford should have already gave us. I have a 2025 F150 crew cab XLT, no problems installing. Try to remember to make a mark or feel with your fingers to realign the peg the seat latches on cause it will be off after you install the bracket.

This product has been on my radar for a couple of years. Not having a factory solution on these trucks was definitely an oversight and short-coming by Ford! Thank God and CONGRATS to BuiltRight Industries for developing this great solution!! Great design and excellent quality! Super easy installation and perfect fitment! I've now gained access to a whole new world behind the back seat of my 2014 Gen 1 Ford Raptor! LOL! Always happy and proud to support a quality product made in the USA!!! My only "complaint" is truly more of a want/wish....is that they offered a 2 pack! The price for one isn't horrible, but a little better pricing and a 2 pack would be appreciated! Great quality product, very easy to install; only took a couple of minutes. First product I’ve ordered from Buildright, I’ll be checking out the rest of their catalog.

Works well once installed. My F150 is a Supercab, which means the left rear seat back does not tilt forward slightly when the seat bottom is lifted up. This makes it nearly impossible to access the seat back release mechanism before the BuiltRight release is installed. To access the release, if you remove the lower left bolt that the seat back pivots on, the seat back can be tilted forward to easily access the release. Once released, reinstall the bolt and install the BuiltRight release.
