Capable RTR crawler loaded with great features!
**UPDATED** I am revisiting my review after FMS corrected all of the issues I was experiencing. I stripped the portal gears out very quickly and they immediately replaced my unit with metal gears. My other issues were user error. Very satisfied! I am reviewing this item through the lens of a long-time SCX24 enthusiast. Much of my review will be based on my experiences with that model compared to the new FCX24. With that said, I am very impressed with the FCX24! What I like: out of the box features like the portal axles, two-speed gearbox, beadlock wheels, and hard body are fantastic. The portal axles in particular allowed this little crawler to take on challenging, rocky terrain with ease. The extra ground clearance makes for a very positive crawling experience. The two-speed gear box is fantastic. Shifting on the fly with the remote is smooth and quick, and in the higher gear, this thing is FAST! My son absolutely loved it and was laughing hysterically making it do wheelies and jumps. The lower gear has slow speed control that borderlines on brushless capability. Very impressive. This thing is also wider than an scx24 by a significant margin, making it less tippy out of the box which makes for a more enjoyable driving experience. The metal geared servo is strong and allowed for precise steering under a variety of stressful situations. What I don't like: I question the fit and finish on some parts. The roll cage broke within five minutes of use. I was climbing around my office and it rolled over off of my shoe and broke the cage. My son broke the snorkel off before he got it out of the yard. Granted, he's four and isn't exactly easy on things. The hard body is great, but removing it to access the battery and electronics is (I find) quite difficult. I have a hard time getting my fingers in position to release the body clips. In conclusion, I really like the FCX24 and was quite impressed with its capabilities out of the box. I would recommend it to anyone looking to get into the micro crawler world. I wish it had sturdier materials in some areas, but that's a tradeoff I am willing to accept for the awesome powertrain that this thing has. I'm looking forward to customizing it and trying it out in a variety of different terrains to see how it does!

Update after an abusive 6 months of use :D
An impressive little Hobby Grade crawler. Hobby grade mean everything on this RC can be replaced when broken or upgraded. This rc have 2 speed mode. 1 for crawling: slow speed with high torque. 2 for speed: Higher speed with lower torque. Best of both worlds! Again, performance is pretty impressive but it definitely have a few flaws! If you want a little more run time on these you need to get the “7.4v 600mah 2S” battery. With that it will bump the playtime from 15 to 30 mins. The stock shocks sucks. It get stuck and sticky from time to time. I recommend an after market shock! Something like “injora” would work a whole lot better. Better wheels and tires are definitely recommend. Specifically a “deep dish” wheel and a much fatter tire. After 6 months of everyday abuse because I love this thing so much. I broke: -The servo: the power cable for the stock servo is short and constantly stretching everytime I picked up the rc to put it away. It broke after 3 months. I bought the “FMS smasher” servo to replace it and it have a much longer power cable. -Shocks: but that broke since I got the unit so I’m assuming a lot of them are like that. -Front axle: got snapped when I drove it in the snow. Bought a replacement part. And running good again. -Headlights: the adapter that connect to the main control board is pretty fragile everytime I try to take the hard body off but I didn’t really care for the headlights because I don’t normally turn it on. Despite all of that I am a happy camper with little RC. Pretty durable. I’ve just been abused it a lot but if you just starting out with a crawler RC this is a perfect choice despite all the flaws that mentioned. These are the flaws that I noticed as I start to upgrade my RC. For a normal person they wouldn’t even notice it. Tips: if you want to work with your RC you pups definitely need a forceps (sells in hobby lobby) to pop out the ball joins around the shocks and a Samix FCX24 2-in-1 Hex Wrench/Nut Driver. To take off parts and wheel nuts on the RC. If you planning to do any mods or upgrades you will need to buy a box of M2 hex screw 9.5/10 would definitely definitely recommend! :))

Great little RC
This is a great little truck, where to begin. Runs fantastic out of the box, it is a little top/front heavy out of the box but still a great crawler. lights are controlled by the remote, has a break system, has trim settings for the breaking. lots of upgrades available on the market. I didn't want to spend a ton, the point was to have a cheap rc crawler. What a did do was buy an extra battery, some sand rails, tow hitch, and upgraded shocks. The two speed transmission is absolutely awesome, in low this thing has great control and crazy torque, and with the flip of a switch you can race around at pretty surprising speed. it does flip at top speed if you turn to hard, you need to remember it is designed to be a crawler. Would recommend

1/24 scale
Item arrived early, which was great open box nicely packaged found the body scratched up in three different spots. The motor would not move found wires from motor crammed against the motor housing and wouldn’t allow to spin gently moved wires away from the motorhead and still the motor just kind of chatters a little bit and doesn’t move the vehicle at all Not happy.

Fun and easy
Update: lost power to the rear wheels. Stripped plastic gears in the diff. Deducted one star. Probably a combination of one metal gear and one nylon would be more durable with the ability to “slip” if a wheel gets jammed. Waiting for the Smasher diff to be available on Amazon. Deducted a star. Parts stripped too fast. I’ve been building and running 1/10 and 1/12 scale cars off and on for 40 years. I wish I got a crawler ages ago. This truck seems well built and it’s tons of fun to drive. I set it to forward/reverse with 50% drag brake, and it seems really capable like that. The two speed transmission is great, but I only care about the low range. I can’t get the lights to work, but that’s not really important. They might not be plugged in correctly. Yes, the body is a pain to remove, and almost as annoying to put on and keep the wires out of the way. Building a course is challenging. It takes some trial and error to get obstacles that are not too easy, but not impossible (too tall for the bumper to clear, for example). I’m looking forward to a lot of fun building and conquering trails. I’ll be selling my Buggy Champ re-release and my vintage Hilux because I don’t see myself playing with them now that I’ve discovered mini crawlers.

Overhyped, cheap quality and overpriced
I really wanted to like this truck. Sadly there is a bunch of cheap brittle plastic used throughout. The body is very difficult to get off and the slightest contact will chip the paint. The two speed transmission and motor are very, very good. Unfortunately, they put them on a truck that’s lacking quality components everywhere else. It reminds me of the really low grade RC cars you find at Walmart. It's hard to justify the $150 price point when a little too much pressure trying to remove the front body clips snaps the bumper clean off.

Awesome!
Fantastic little truck! I've been through all types of rc I've done rc coppers, gas powered planes, cars Done rc tanks and boats and at the end of the day they ain't that fun Manly bc the faster you go the more likely they will break them and then i got into mini rc and love them but this truck blows them out of the water. Got the first one as a test and ran it into the ground and the only thing that gave was the plastic shift plate and then returned it and then got another one.the first the thing you will need to do is up grade the transmission to a metal one bc the shift plate will strip going into second gear after a while. not had a problem with the diffs but i did up grade the rear to metal but the front is still plastic and ain't strip yet Short wheel base is a little bit of a problem but extended links fix that And the second version of the fcx24 has metal portal axles so you ain't got to upgrade them.Sooooo have I put a little to much money into it? No I would never 😁 oh and did the math for it and the scale is pretty close to the real thing TIPS Get rid of the rubber band for the battery and put a small piece of velcro. Take of the front bumper you'll get a lot more clearance. If your servo is twitching it may not be bad it probably is that your controller is not fully charged( happened to both of the one's that I got). Use blue thread locker for parts so that you'll lose less screws

Awesome rig
Its awesome but it arrived with the paint damaged. Not a big deal since i am going to use it just figured it would be in better condition for the price. Tons of fun.
