Ilford HP5 Plus Black and White Negative Film ISO 400 Review: Great - Incredible film. Love it. Review: A great, inexpensive option for experimenting with photography - I wanted some inexpensive film to try out an old box camera that I found in our attic, and this turned out to be great. It is basic black and white and it performed perfectly. It is inexpensive enough to experiment with and use as a leaning tool. I would definitely buy this again.

Standard BW film
The current standard for BW film. Not too grainy, not perfectly clean. Not too contrasty, not too soft. Fast enough, maybe a bit too fast for some older cameras. Good latitude. Always reach for this when trying out a "new" camera.

Wonderful Film
Not pricey. Been around for years. A go to for B&W film in 120 and 35mm.

Great images
As expected I have been using this film for many years.

Works as it should. Just make sure you set your camera correctly.
It is a good film. You can't go wrong with it.

One of my favorites that I choose over much more expensive film.
One of my favorite films. I use this in a vintage camera from the 1930s and the light leaks on the film gives it a vintage feel. The grain of this film is fine enough to allow for fine detail in images but is just barely perceived when you look closely. That also goes well with the aged/vintage look of the photos I use it for. When used in my more modern cameras the film produces fine detail and clean prints in the darkroom. The contrast is not overwhelming, but nice. I can dodge and burn it to make a very moody print or reduce the contrast and just make a calm photo to relax with. It also scans well with a DSLR.

Slightly misleading advertising, as it can hold *up to* 12 exposures. With the camera I am using (an antique brownie camera), it has space for only 8. Does have the correct markings for the matching window, however. I will be getting one of the rolls developed today, and will update my review once I have them.
