This was pretty easy to install. Just needed allen keys to remove the rear shock from my bike (strongly recommend having a torque wrench for tightening the bolts at the end) and some isopropyl alcohol to clean the shock. Watched some Youtube videos on how to install and it is as easy as it looks. The kit comes with everything you need (eg Negative can upgrade, grease, oil, seals plus some extras). For context, I ride a 2021 Evil Offering v2 with 140mm of rear travel and weigh about 170 pounds with my riding gear. Before the upgrade I used about 200 psi in the rear shock (I was getting about 25% sag and not getting constant bottom outs) and this was a somewhat rough ride compared to the recommended 170 psi (just over 30% sag, bike felt like a magic carpet) but at that psi I was always bottoming out the rear shock (from looking at the o-ring). With the MegNeg upgrade, I’m running it at 220 psi (about 30% sag) and using 2 of the volume reduction bands (need to add about 20% more psi after the upgrade) and the bike now has the best of both worlds with the magic carpet ride feel and no more bottom outs (o-ring is 3-4mm away from the max of 55mm). I can probably let a bit more air out for a little bit smoother ride but I’m very happy with where it is at now in terms of small bump compliance, pedaling platform, and progression of the shock at the end of it’s travel. Highly recommend getting this as it is a relatively cheap upgrade with massive gains (IMO) compared to buying a new shock. I had to service my rear shock anyways and the MegNeg kit more or less gives you the same stuff as the service kit too (grease, oil, and new seals).

So i am a light rider with plenty of shock pressure headroom. This gives a supple beginning, and very good mid stroke support. Very similar to a coil, only tuneable.

The MegNeg was a much welcomed upgrade, for my super deluxe ultimate. I was able to fine tune my shock and unlock the feel I had been chasing. Following a few guidelines for my specific make and model I was able to get it into the ballpark and fine tune from there. Now I have plush initial action, plenty of mid stroke support and enough bottom resistance for my liking.
