Tetra Whisper IQ Power Filter, 175 GPH, with Stay Clean Technology, 30 Gallons

This is the quietest, most efficient filter I have used in an aquarium. I have tried many others and was shocked when I plugged this one in. It worked quickly to rid the tank of a hazy cloud despite being almost totally silent. Thank you Tetra! Also - easy to assemble!

Runs whisper-quiet and keeps the water crystal clear—my tank looks spotless after just a few days. The Stay Clean cartridges make maintenance simple, and the flow is powerful enough to keep things moving. The only drawback is size: in my 5-gallon tank it feels bulky, and I had to angle the top to fit. Perfect match for a 10-gallon setup, but a tight squeeze in smaller tanks.

This IQ Power filter is amazing! I’m running it in my 55-gallon tank even though it’s rated for 60 gallons, and it has been going strong for months with absolutely no issues. Water stays crystal clear, and the flow is perfect for my fish. Super reliable and well-built—I highly recommend it!

It’s very quiet but can make a bit of vibrational noise if the cover is misaligned. No big deal. You can just readjust it. Maintenance is very simple. The siphon self starts after you power it up, so there’s no need to fill it with water beforehand. There’s also plenty of room in the canister for media of your choice. The water flow is strong initially, after a filter media change, but after a few weeks of use, it tends to slow down to a near drip, especially if you have a lot of sponges, floss or carbon in there. Its main drawback, imo, is its size. It’s bulky. I have it hanging on the back of a tiny 5 gallon nano tank and it looks a little out of place in relation to the small tank. Otherwise, decent HOB filter for small aquariums, at a very low price .

I bought a filter, an area on the back near the pump seemed a bit loose but I figured it would hopefully work fine. Got it set up and installed and it was prwtty much silent! However, this was the ONLY pro. It seemed to be working fine for a couple days and then suddenly my tank was a few inches low. It had started pumping water into the back but letting it pour out onto the floor through the crack instead of back into the tank. I figured this particular pump must be defective and was potentially damaged during transport so I returned it for a replacement as I thought the price was still the best. I received the new one with he same crack, but hoped that part wasn't really the problem, alas, it was, and after a few days of proper functioning, it began siphoning the water out again, thankfully this time I placed a bucket under the drip loop and it did not make a huge mess. Penn Plax cascade filter was a little more expensive, but makes up for it by functioning properly and letting you replace the pump ins to ad of the whole filter if it does eventually burn out

Tetra whisper IQ power filter 10 gallons: I love the adjustable flow. I wanted a hob for my 10 gallon cory fry tank, the sponge filter just wasn’t cutting it on keeping the tank looking clean. The 1st hob I tried didn’t have an adjustable flow and the fry were clearly struggling in the current it created. So I got this tetra filter. I’ve only had it running a few days but so far couldn’t be happier with it. I have it on a medium/low flow setting and it’s perfect for the fry. It was easy to set up. I didn’t use the adjustable intake tube, that would have been too long. Without the intake tube, the intake sits right in the middle of the tank. And a small intake pre filter sponge fits nicely on it, don’t even need to secure it with a zip tie. I cut some filter sponges to fit where the disposable cartridges go. I also love it has an internal pump, why some others don’t have an internal pump is beyond me. It’s not very noisy which is nice also. All in all, the adjustable flow and easy pre filter sponge application/maintenance makes the 10 gallon filter a great fry tank filter in my opinion. I paid $13.99 before tax for it, which seems like a good price.

Dead silent and it starts its own siphon. The only time it makes a noise is if I let my water get too low and it starts waterfalling into the tank. But, that's not the fault of the product. I did replace the filter media with a coarse sponge and water polishing filter media, both from aquarium coop, so that I don't have to pay a recurring filter media cost. I also bought a sponge for over the intake. That helps its filtering capacity a lot and keeps shrimps and fry from getting sucked in.

I didn’t even know it was on until I saw the water flowing It’s super quiet. And the day after set up, the water is almost crystal clear. I highly recommend this filter.

Best filter I have bought in decades, provided it endures. The flow control was tricky, the difference between trickle and waterfall is a tiny move of the dial, but just having flow control is the main point. It's VERY quiet. I hear the trickle of water, not the filter. The filters themselves are sold as kits you can make for very cheap. The flow control/suction goes pretty fast, i suspect you could use this for a 50G freshwater tank in a pinch.

Está increíble! Solo que debemos tomar en cuenta que necesita reemplazos de filtro cada mes y hay que comprar el paquete de 12 piezas, terminas pagando menos de $50 pesos cada pieza. Pero ayuda muchísimo a limpiar el agua ya que contienen unas bolitas que ayudan a limpiar y evitar enfermedades en tus peces✨Realmente vale la pena

Comparado con otros filtros del mismo tamaño, mueve un buen volumen de agua con muy poco ruido, funciona de nuevo si se va la luz. Muy buena calidad y recomendable.
