I didn't want to buy a vacuum sealer, but I still needed a way to keep pantry staples fresh. These bags are great. I can finally buy the 20-pound bag of rice! They seal easily with a household clothing iron, and all the bags I put away stayed sealed. Even after a couple months, the rice I stored still tasted fresh and hadn't absorbed any weird odors. (I keep my sealed bags inside plastic storage bins, and after I open a bag I keep them in those big popcorn tins.) The material is really thick, and withstands a good bit of shuffling around. They're easy to prop open for filling, and they stay upright without sagging or flopping over. The largest size holds a generous amount, and they get heavy quickly; keep that in mind when deciding how to store all your goodies. The small size is really quite small, but just right for spices. One thing to note, if you use the oxygen absorber packets as directed (3 packets per large bag, 2 per medium bag, 1 for small bags), you'll run out of them before you run out of bags. They do seem to make a difference in freshness, so I'll order some packets when I run out.

I know that are mixed reviews about whether or not these continue to keep the air out, but for me, that's not my issue. I live in an old farmhouse surrounded by farmland. I am constantly battling ants, or field mice after cut the crops, or both. So, I have completed gutted my kitchen, thrown out all my pantry goods that aren't in cans, bought out Amazon (or so it seems) on containers and baggies of every size to go in those containers, as well as these mylar bags. I even bought airtight bins for the Cat Food and Cat Treats. I thought this package of Mylar bags would be a good assortment to start with. I am going to use the one-gallon bags for flour and sugar, once the air is sucked out of them, they should fit nicely in the containers I have to double down on air not getting in and nothing else getting in. I like the various sizes for my herbs, teas, chocolate chips, and other items I've purchased to replace the old. The different sizes will come in handy. They seem to be quite easy to use and very durable. I love the design. I also like the fact that they are reusable. Since they block the smell as well, that's an additional bonus for me. In all, I think this is a great set to start with because I've never used the Mylar bags before and I haven't yet bought a sealer because I wanted to see how well they worked for me first. I'm not a prepper, just want to keep critters out of my house. Hopefully these will help me do that. They seem highly functional, so I have high hope.

Great product! Love the fact it comes with various sizes of bags and oxygen scrubbers. Being able to heat seal the bags after placing foods and oxygen scrubbers is a life saver. Helps to keep grains etc usable for longer periods of time. If you are into food storage, I highly recommend these bags. I have ordered them multiple times.

Works well for dry goods and I like that the dry packets came with the bags. I like that there are variety of sizes.

Great quality, thicker materiel. I took a hair straightener to the top above the ziplock. So far I’ve done rice and oats- they hold a lot! The large bag took 4 Mylar bags for a 25 lb bag of rice.

These are great 5 gallon mylar bags! They are a thick mil, seal easily, and come packaged in a re-closable heavy-duty storage box, if you don't use them all initially. They are half the price of some other mylar bags that I have used in the past, but just as good, if not better! I highly recommend these bags!

This set of Mylar Bags are a terrific value and easy to use. It's nice to have these on hand as an alternative to glass jars! They're durable, and it kept my dried fruit in the freezer too! Having three sizes turned out to be a great fit for us.

Already bagged up a batch of dried goods and these are extremely easy to use for beginners. Only issue is one of the 11packs of oxygen absorbers wasn't sealed and is discoloured, but all of the other ones are good. Would definitely buy again
