You need this saw!
So where to begin? I was considering buying a nearly $400 Husqvarna gas chainsaw. I’ve taken down 75 trees in my yard of varying thickness with a friends 16” and 20” saws. So about after 50, I decided to buy this little guy for the remainder, with intent of using it for cutting limbs and branches. Cue my friend getting forced to work overtime like crazy. So I started to experiment with this saw to cut down the remaining trees. Now I still had some thicker ones that would definitely test this saw, being it’s only 12”. But wow. Super impressed. The saw had plenty of power to slice through not only the branches, but I literally sawed about 15-20 trees down with this and fully cut them up. Oak, Maple, Pine, Sassafras. No problems. Had to change the chain once during this due to dulling but it was a lot of cutting. All I have to saw is wow is this convenient! First it’s light. Very easy maneuvering and one hand cutting is super easy when necessary. Powerful enough to cut through trees bigger than 12”. Though a bigger saw would be easier, duh. But it’s nice to know it’s capable. Most importantly, the battery life. I haven’t been more impressed with a battery powered anything in my life. These batteries power this saw for a long time and I’ve only needed to change the battery once during the day while cutting up multiple trees. It’s a small saw but you could use this all day without too much exertion. Quiet and perfect for thinner trees and branches but won’t disappoint you if you need to cut thicker trees. It does use some oil so make sure you have some. Amazing tool. Would give it 10 stars if I could. I ended up buying the Dewalt 20v weed trimmer, pole saw, and hedge trimmer as well. Very impressed with the battery life and quality.

Perfect for anyone... including newbies
This chainsaw is awesome. Im a woman of 5'4... right about national average. I am not an expert when it comes to power tools and I in no way have a green thumb. I do however have a TON of brush to clear... and my clippers just won't cut it. I ordered this 2 years ago. TWO YEARS AGO. And it still works perfectly for our needs. And honestly, we've asked a lot of this chainsaw. I've cut branches with an 8-inch diameter. We literally measured it because we were so impressed. So let's get to specifics.. when it first arrived (again, 2 years ago) I didn't realize I needed anything for it. All you need is some chainsaw oil to keep it running smoothly. This tool is small and light enough for me to feel comfortable using on a ladder (.... and btw I feel like a total badass when I'm up there using it LoL). It only weighs a few pounds though. I'd say like 5 or 6 lbs give or take. And its really easy to move around. It doesn't have what I'd call a "clunk-factor". So if I'm on a ladder trying to cut branchesni can move it around and through branches with minimal effort. And I cant say enough, how much this thing can cut through. We use it mostly on the spring, but this passed Christmas we got our tree home and realized it was a little too high. So we whipped this out and 5 minutes later our tree was perfect. Comparatively, the price is good: Similar items are similarly priced. I went with this one though because of the name. Dewalt is a highly trusted brand. And it gets a full charge in 1 or 2 hours. Also should note.. its simple to understand the mechanics of it. If you take the casing off, you can easily take the chain and bar out to clean and maintain. So I give it 2 big thumbs up! I highly recommend.

Great Battery Powered Chainsaw
I was a bit skeptical regarding battery operated chainsaws - honestly I thought this would be under-powered having a previous crappy experience with Dewalt's 18v 6.25in circular saw. I decided on this unit after being very pleasantly surprised by the line trimmer and being quite happy with Dewalt's 20v line of tools. I purchased this saw after reading reviews and deciding to further my commitment to Dewalt (for context, I have about a dozen 18v tools that I began purchasing since they're inception - was a GC back in the late 90's and went with Dewalt so the batteries were interchangeable with the various contractors at job sites). Regarding Dewalt's 20v line, it's a marked improvement over their 18v tools - the batteries just last longer, are in general less bulky (they run from 1ah to 10 or 15ah depending on the battery type) as you can use a battery appropriate for a job (for light work use the smaller batteries, for heavier the larger). I've only had a problem with one battery that won't charge properly that I wished I had sent back (it was pat of DCA2203C- two 20ah batteries, a charger and adapter). Unfortunately I've misplaced the battery so no recourse (buried somewhere in my basement. As an aside, if you buy a battery adapter you can use the new batteries on older equipment - makes them last a bit longer - I've slowly been swapping out as the older equipment dies (all the old batteries are completely dead and it's not worthwhile to have them rebuilt). About the line-trimmer - my property is a 1/2 acre wooded lot with about 40 large hardwood trees and only a couple of strips of grass along the edges and the back "yard" - I tried various line trimmers and the mix-fuel versions are frankly just not worth the trouble - the corded trimmers too much of a pain. The Dewalt DCST925B works quite well for my needs - a single battery is more than enough for most trimming with a second needed if I'm also edging (I've got about 120 feet of sidewalk on one side of the corner lot. In any case this led to me thinking about replacing my chainsaw - it was an 18" Stihl Farm Boss that frankly was overkill for the number of times I needed it. I ended up getting the bar jammed up in a log and decided that I had enough. 95% of the time a 12 inch bar was plenty - I had also read some reviews about upgrading the bar to a 16" using aftermarket parts so there are options if I need bigger capacity. The DCCS620 is fairly lightweight and super simple to use - it also cuts out when the trigger is released so much safer than gas powered. It's light enough that it can be used one-handed (if you have the grip strength) but I wouldn't recommend it as it's safer and easier to control with two. There's also a chain break across the top to cover accidents on the plunge. The only negative, which I was aware of going in, is that it leaks bar chain oil a bit - not enough to drain the reservoir but enough to be annoying - I put the whole thing in a plastic shopping bag when not in use. I mostly use it to cut fallen limbs - these mostly don't exceed 12" in diameter but on the occasion I've had to reposition the saw to get through them. When making a lot of cuts I've had to change out the battery, but really it's what I expected for this type of saw. In all, a great battery powered chainsaw.

Just gets the job done!
This 12" saw does exactly what I bought it for. I'm off grid and wanted a saw that was both light and powerful, as well as quiet and easy to use. This saw is great. It cuts fast, and is small enough to maneuver easily in the woods to cut deadfall trees for firewood. I can cut a whole agronomy tote full of wood on a couple batteries.

The only thing I don't like is they didn't mention, the charger wont support 220v so I have to buy a transformer to convert 220 to 120v

It's my hubby's saw. He says the saw is awesome! So light and yet has so much power. So super easy to manoeuver with one hand! He couldn't believe it. Hubby has not stopped talking about this chainsaw!! Sigh! Not only that, he is super impressed with the battery life!! He has had a bunch over the years and this beats them all by a lot! He took down four trees....cut the trunks with a huge power saw and then limbed them with this one. Some of the limbs were over five inches thick. Easy to recharge and fast, apparently. I can write this review because I know how he feels about the chainsaw and he talks about how great it is every time he uses it!! Me, I'm not into that stuff but I do have to listen to him!!...over and over again!!

The only thing which wasn’t detailed in the item’s description is about the power for the battery charger. I didn’t expect to be 120V. However, take care while ordering such tools. I have to buy a transformer from 220v to 120v or a new 220v charger.
