perfect knife preparing Chinese food
The knife is perfect size for my hand and fits well when I hold it for cutting. Plus it's very light and sharp. It excels in chopping both vegetables and meat. I use it almost everyday and very happy with this knife.

Good quality knife
Very sharp and cuts really well. The handle feels nice in hand and it’s easy to chop and slice. A little on the heavy side, but overall a solid knife for everyday cooking

Reliable Daily Driver Knife, Just Like Back Home
As an immigrant from China, I was already familiar with SHI BA ZI ZUO – it's a very popular and well-known knife brand there. I've been using this particular Chinese slicer cleaver daily for two full years now (since around May 2023), and it has been completely reliable with absolutely no problems. It holds an edge reasonably well for everyday cooking; I typically give it a quick sharpening about once a week to keep it performing optimally. A bonus for me is that I've found it handles being washed in the dishwasher just fine, which simplifies cleanup. If you're looking for a dependable, workhorse Chinese-style slicer that can stand up to constant use, this one has been excellent for me.

Solid and heavy, but not for beginners
I have 3 SHI BA ZI ZUO knives, including the 9" model. I enjoy the laminated and excellent construction and heat-treating technology they use, which is superior to the "old school" cleavers used in many traditional Chinese restaurants, but I'm old. It weighs 1 lb. 3 oz. according to my scale, so it's a big boy. Balance is about 5.5" inches from the tip. The blade measures approx. 8 and 1/8" long and i4" wide. It tapers slightly towards the tip. I have so far found this more useful han the offers from Lamson, Dexter Russell, etc. due to its heft and ease of honing/sharpening. Managing the heft is a matter of technique and letting the knife "drive" itself. While I no longer work a cleaver all day long this is a nice alternative to the lighter-weight offerings which can be fatiguing due to extra effort required in the cut. This came very sharp, but I always hone the edge with a steel before serious work. I've had NO issues making 1/16" to 1/32' segments. I have other knives for tissue-thin cutting. It has proven capable in segmenting pork ribs and chicken bones with no visible damage to the edge. It's unibody construction also makes it easy to clean and it would easily pass food-inspection standards. I would buy this again.

Started using the day upon receipt. It's favourite kitchen knife now as the form, fit and weight is great. The cutting blade is sharp and efficient in slicing, cutting and chopping different cooking ingredients instead of using different knife and cleaver for slicing and chopping respectively. It comes in a elegant box too. Would recommend to family and friends.

Veramente un bel prodotto, maneggevole e soprattutto super affilato bisogna fare attenzione a non tagliarsi. Magari una piccola protezione per la lama quando si ripone sarebbe ottima.

I bought this knife a while ago and have just started using it and I have ro say it's perfect. It slices tomatoes even soft ones just let it use its own weight it very sharp. I may not bother with any more chefs knife's. I chop. Slice and pick up The veg to put in the steamer. It is made and will last forever. (I think).
