Amazing Product - Highest Recommendation
For ages I've always wanted to find a 'non-traditional' wood dye that offered more than your basic 'wood tones'. After doing a little research I came across Keda Wood Dyes and ordered the yellow & red to try on a long awaited project I had wanted to start and the blue dye for some future projects. I had obtained some very damaged military crates and I wanted to refurbish them in order to make an entertainment stand for my TV and gaming consoles. I wanted to try finishing one as a 'test' to see if it would be worth continuing with the others and I was more than satisfied with the results. After sanding the surfaces I used the Keda Yellow on the inside of first crate and the Keda Red on the outsides. I finished them up with some satin gloss polyurethane and the final outcome was beyond my expectations. Very easy to use (I added two tablespoons of denatured alcohol, warm water, and 1/8 teaspoon of dye powder mixed in an 8 oz. mason jar). From there I added about three to four coats on each surface and let them dry between applications. Keep in mind, using painter's tape was a must in order to keep the dye colors from blending into one another (it's honestly like painting with Kool-Aid), but it made all the difference. I've added some photos of the crate from start to finish just for reference. Amazing product - can't wait to try the blue dye soon!

Love these dyes...
Colors are vibrant and using combinations of the colors is almost endless. Definitely mix dye with a little warm water to get it dissolved then decide if you're going all water or add ISO alcohol. (rubbing alcohol) If final piece is outdoors definitely use a UV Sealer.

Strong Stuff
I made the mistake of mixing it indoors. The granules are exceedingly small, and each one packs a big punch. I mixed it in a bathroom with a white backsplash, and spent a good 20 minutes splashing water around afterwards, and squeegeeing it down the drain. I was trying to make an orange stain. I liked the color I ultimately got, but beware when the stain looked orange in a cup it was yellow on lumber. I just added red until the solution looked red in the cup, and orange on the project.

I highly recommend this product
After purchasing hickory stair treads for our home remodel, I was interesting in matching the hardwood floors we installed but wanted to keep some of the characteristics of the hickory. Knowing that hickory doesn't take stain very well, I set about educating myself on alternatives. I learned all about dyes and how they work and how to use them. I Keda's dye kit to develop a color match for the existing floors. After three tests, I had the formula that matched perfectly. I then purchased this dye, as well as two others to make the large batch I would need for the treads. One note, I did not use water as my base, I used denatured alcohol. I highly recommend this product.

Primary color
It takes a little tweeking to get desired color if you want to dye something orange for instance. I've purchased this product a couple of times. Once you get familiar with it, blending becomes fairly straightforward. Colors are true and clear, dissolve quickly and very easy to use.

Was skeptical but now I know...
Very pleased with the results. My go to stain was General Finish, which is excellent, however Keda dye is so much less money. I mix each packet with 16oz of warm water for a good strong color. Even at this level the cost is roughly one fourth. For reference this yellow is a bit more pure yellow (i.e. lemon) compared to General Finish Yellow which is a little orangish yellow.

Great results
I'm very happy with this dye. The suggested dilution yields a bright, full hue. This allows for further dilution through various grades of tint that still has good color saturation.

Excellent wood die
Very cool product. Very easy to use. Very easy to apply. Used as a yellow base and put oil base gel stain on top to match other wood. Worked great.
