I bought this Kensington product for my Mac Book Pro (2011) to secure it my dorm room- the t-lock fits nicely in the slot and the combination was easy to configure. It is pretty convenient to get the lock off quickly too. I purchased this one instead of the Kensington ClickSafe because there is no extra knob (and hassle) that I would have need to attach to my laptop to have it work. This combination lock allows me to leave my MBP unscratched and protected. Definitely would recommend this for someone who wants extra quality reassurance.

REad several reviews on this lock before purchasing 2 of them. They work PERFECT and as expected. Yes, you could easily cut them off ( as with any of the laptop locks ) but the idea is to slow the bad guys down and stop the NOT SO BAD ones. Small, light, easy to use. Perfect addition for both my wife and I ( both on MacBook Pro's ). Will recommend to anyone asking for a good lock. I always recommend that anyone with a laptop have some sort of lock and this is PERFECT.

I ordered the Kensington Combination Cable Lock K64673AM for the 13" Mac Book Pro 2011. I read the reviews from buyers who unfortunately could not use the lock for their laptop. Mac users should know this does fit a Mac Book Pro. The slot is on the right hand side. I am satisfied with the quality and durability of the cable and lock. Other reviewers noted the lack of clear directions on setting the lock. I agree: Play with the combinations before committing to setting it. My one complaint: The button has to be pushed in to open and insert the pin into the laptop. The combination side is 90 degrees to that side. When the pin is correctly inserted, the combination side is not vertical, it's facing you. So you have to lift the laptop to use your combination. Or else memorize the numbers from the top.

Using this to secure a laptop in a dorm-room. Easy to use (just loop it around something fairly immovable), easy to reset the combination. The only caveat I would give is that given enough time, someone can brute-force the combination. I came back to campus from a weekend away to see that the code on the wheels was not where I had left it. I had happened to notice the exact numbers it was on when I left after removing it from the laptop and spinning them, when I came back it was exactly one number off from the right combination on every wheel. I assume that my room-mate or someone he let in had brute-forced it, possibly with the intent of stealing my laptop later (I changed the code and got a new room-mate). Since a 4 number combo is inherently weak and I knew that when I bought it, I am not dinging points for it. Just be aware that this is not a foolproof protection device, any serious thief will cut the cable with bolt cutters and work out the combination at their leisure. It will prevent casual/impulsive thefts, as designed.

This product was purchased to secure a Playstation 5 in a college dorm room. The device attached securely and seemed fine. However, when the device needed to be removed it would not unlock. The combination was correct but no matter what was done the button would not press in to unlock the device. Due to the need to make a long drive a pair of bolt cutters was purchased to cut the cable and the lock was removed by using a pair of vice grips to push the button in with great pressure. There was slight damage to the security port on the Playstation 5 due to the lock not fully releasing. Kensington support was contacted later and they denied a refund as I damaged the product. Well, I had no choice but to damage the lock to remove it. Definitely not purchasing a replacement or any other products from Kensington.

I first purchased a Sendt brand lock because it came in white and I wanted that color. The Sendt did not work on this Acer ConceptD 2-in-1 unfortunately. However, this Kensington one did and was drama free. The code was easy to set and it just fit and worked. I highly recommend Kensington for Acer brand laptops. Many other brands were listed too as compatible. Too bad the lock size is not standard across all brands.

After 6-7 months of normal office-desk use, one day it got stuck in the position where the lock was in unlocked state but could not be pulled out. I tried wiggling, resetting, added a little prayer, too - nothing helped. I talked to the support over online chat, and they were happy to send a replacement - however, I had to first find a wire-cutter to cut the cable, then a hacksaw to cut the lock off, so that I can finally liberate my laptop. Now, all that is not an unbearable inconvenience when I'm in an office/home environment, but it crossed my mind getting stuck at an airport or at some Starbucks out there (I bought a backpack with Kensington lock, too). The support was literally fleeing when I kept asking about whether this was a known issue, etc. I thought these things were bulletproof and super reliable, but now I am skeptical about using them. My concern, again, isn't the lousy 20 bucks, but rather getting stranded somewhere without the tools to "steal" my own laptop or without looking like a thief trying to convince some bypasser to help me "steal" my own laptop (yeah, right), or flat moron, for that matter. I hope they see this and continue working on improving this product, cause it's obviously not complete. And, no, nobody was fiddling with the lock, to say it broke as a result - it was used normally and once or twice per day the most.

Product is as advertised and now I can rest easier knowing that my laptop is more secure.

Excelente produto. Qualidade incomum. Pena que não coube no DELL Inspiron 15 Série 7000. A entrada destinada para o cabo de segurança não permite fazer a conexão. Entrei em contato com DELL, mas a explicação foi bem evasiva. Acabei ficando com o produto. Quem sabe na próxima compra do próximo Note sirva.

Le câble antivol classique de Kensington dans sa variante à combinaison. Une fois assimilé la méthode pour changer le code d’usine (0000) l’installation est facile. Mais attention ce dispositif est prévu pour protéger votre matériel contre un vol « à l’arraché » sur un bureau par exemple mais ne résistera pas à un voleur bien outillé. C’est d’ailleurs bien précisé dans les informations disponibles. Un must dans son domaine d’application.
