I bought the nest camera second generation and i cannot view the cameras on a pc, i can only use the teeeny cell phone. how do i view on pc?

The google home app can NOT BE VIEWED ON A LAPTOP OR DESKTOP COMPUTER. This camera can NOT BE VIEWED ON THE NEST APP AND CAN ONLY BE VIEWED WITH THE BUGGY GOOGLE HOME APP. NOTE THAT GOOGLE IS DEACTIVATING ALL OF THE OLDER BLACK NEST AND DROPCAM CAMERAS ON APRIL 8TH 2024 AND MAY DEACTIVATE THIS CAMERA IN 2025.

Does this work with the Vivint home security integration like nest?

I cannot be sure about Vivint . . . BUT . . . I was very disappointed with this product, advertised as a Google Nest cam. It does not work with and is not recognizable by the Nest app. It is recognized by the Google Home app.

When you need to review footage having been offline for a while, are there notifications if there has been any motion detection ?

Hi there, we appreciate your inquiry. You can turn push notifications on for your phone when your camera detects activity. When enabled, you can receive camera alerts as long as you're signed into the app. However, if your phone is offline, you won’t get real time notifications. Also, there's no fee to stream full resolution live video and receive basic notifications, as long as your camera is connected to the internet. But you’ll need a Nest Aware subscription to record video and receive advanced notifications. With a Nest Aware subscription your video will be saved to the cloud and you’ll get extra features. Possible to use a very short usb cable for power? is the usb power cable hard wired? the installation location will be about 10” from a usb outlet.

I have many Google nest cameras and added this to my house. I hate that you can't add it to the nest app and has to be used through Google home. They cut off nest app and as of a certain time in 2021 all new cameras will be added to Google home and not the nest app. The Nest app definitely works better, not stoked that I now have to use two apps for my older cameras and new newer cameras. I find the scrolling through history not nearly as clean as in the nest app. Hopefully one day Google will stop killing apps and products that just work. Will I continue to use Google cameras, yes I'm in the ecosystem and will continue to stay in it. Just wish it was single app, fully integrated, without unnecessary changes.

I love this camera paired with the Nest Aware service. It seamlessly was added to my Google Home app. The recording video and sound quality are great. The motion detection works flawlessly. Every Google product I've owned was nothing but good and high quality. I love the look of it as well.

Es el segundo producto de seguridad de Google que compro, ya tengo un Camara exterior con baterías y quería una cámara para ver el interior de mi casa y el patio trasero desde adentro. Esta cámara cumple muy bien, tiene un gran cable y es más pequeña que la exterior. Tiene 3 horas de grabado y puedes adquirir un mes de este con una suscripción la cual no es alta, debido que también incluye el reconocimiento de rostros. Me agrada que puedes configurar que si estas en casa se apague, o desactivar las notificaciones, así como en cuanto detecte que no estas en el domicilio, comience a grabar. Además, podrías con más cámaras hacer todo un sistema de monitoreo y poderlas ver desde la app de Google Home o desde la web: home.google .com. Sin duda una maravilla.
