I can't believe I haven't come across this concept before now. For me its love at first use. Its such a simple idea, but its completely changed the way I read larger books. I have a bit of a book problem on the best of days, I have a great many of them, and I struggle not to add to my collection. But when it comes to larger books, cookery, history, gardening, Woodworking, maps, encyclopaedias etc. I really can't get enough, and like nothing more than relaxing on the sofa with a cup of tea to study one of my many much loved reference books. The one problem with books of this size, is how to read them comfortably on the sofa, whilst also holding a my beverage of choice, a notepad, looking up details on my phone, or any one a dozen other tasks that require more hands than I have. But that's all in the past now, for this wonderful invention, a combination of lap tray and lectern, with build in storage... its just perfect. Big enough to hold most reference books, along with the ability to adjust the angle at which the book is held, this clever thing makes it so easy to properly study from the sofa... Need to add a post-it to highlight some wonderful detail you've just read? Well, fish around inside the box to retrieve a pen a sticky note, nothing could be easier. Fancy a slurp of coffee/tea/beer while you read? Np, slurp away while the angled reader keeps your book open at the right page, and the text easily readable, without having to try and balance the thing one handed. Fancy writing a birthday card, a journal entry, or copying a recipe from a book to take into the kitchen... Np, no need to move the table or nearby desk, you can store all you need inside the box, and then drop the angle to do your writing. Need to take a break for a sandwich, bowl of soup of glass of vino. Np, just drop the top down to its flat starting point, and you've got a comfortable lap tray all in one. Is it perfect. Well, this wonderful thing is simple, strong and well made. Its also attractive and a good size. Yes, i'd happily by a bigger version for those lovely atlas books and coffee table size treasures, but one day they'll hopefully start making one.

Lovely construction, nice page holders to free up your hands, brilliant for book reading or journal writing, padded bottom which is very comfortable, highly recommended and fast delivery too.

I’ve never loved anything more, it’s amazing! Super sturdy, not too heavy, and the bottom is so soft and cushioned it causes no problems when on my lap! I bought this because of wrist problems that stop me from holding books open and this has been the best solve ever. the compartment inside is rlly spacious and nice, I even received a free coaster! Super easy to use, the stand for different angles functions really well , though i do wish it had one more groove to stand it upright so i can read while lying flat haha. Reading the book is super easy, the wipers hold it in place and changing the page is no problem at all, even kind of satisfying. my only issue is that one of these wipers is soooo squeaky and loud! i’m going to have to oil it or something, but this has really helped and hopefully i’ll be able to start reading again the way I did before my health declined. Does this count as an aid? yeah 1000%

An excellent design for comfortable reading in bed. The only problems are The support can only be elevated to 45 degrees using the integral slots. However, this is easily resolved by wedging a cardboard box 13cm long and around 10-11cm wide between the box edge and the support – see photo. The material used is only 8mm thick and the screws fixing the hinges are really tiny. You need to be careful not to overstress these. The book support is only 35mm wide, and so thicker books are difficult to hold in place. I like to read sitting in an upright position and without having to bend my neck forwards. This can be resolved by raising the stand on support(s) around 9 inches high - such as a cardboard box or boxes. Follow up re problems I have improved stability for eye level reading by using a lap tray on the bottom plus box(es). You could also save money by buying the other Vigo book holder without the cushion box base. However this one is more versatile as it can also be used for lap level reading if that is more convenient. I have enabled the use of thicker books of 2 inches or more by using long reach clamps – I use 2 of my Draper 225mm ones, but these may be too stiff for frail people. These are also better than the built in clamps for any book as they are more sturdy and you can adjust the position to match the book margins.

I thought this would be pretty cheap feeling, from the product photos, but it is very well designed and excellent quality, far better than I was expecting it to be. There is a magnetic catch that keeps it closed. It is easy to pop open, though, and the swinging arm underneath is perfectly weighted as it automatically slots into the first height slot once you lift it. Beautiful design! I was expecting something made from cheapo ply or MDF with wood effect paper stuck to it, but it feels a decent weight and the surface has a nice grain effect making it feel much more like decent quality wood. The cushioned base and sides, also, feel good quality and it is very comfy on your legs. The inside is very convenient for storing spare bookmarks, pens, post its and glasses case/cleaner etc. I love using it (along with a blanket and teapot) and my time spent reading daily has increased massively after buying this. I don't even feel tempted to look at my phone anywhere near as often, the experience is so comforting and blissful.

it is a little smaller than other lap desks. I really like the adjustable angle and the feel of the fabric. The compartment can hold pens, and small articles and the book I am reading.

Finalmente un supporto per libri fatto come si deve. È leggero e morbido sotto. La molla per bloccare le pagine è ottima. Comodo anche per cellulare e tablet. Dentro si possono riporre oggetti o il libro. Molto carino il poggiatazza trovato all'interno. Sul bordo del contenitore si riesce a pinzare la luce da lettura. Prodotto molto comodo e valido.

Fijne boekensteun! Vanwege ME kan ik m'n boek niet lang zelf vasthouden, dan verzuren mijn nek, armen, polsen en handen. Dit is een perfecte oplossing. Ligt stabiel op je schoot. Handige opbergmogelijkheid voor leeslampjes en leesbril.

Me ha sorprendido lo útil que resulta para leer en cama. Tiene un tamaño adecuado para colocarlo de forma estable. Los elementos para sujetar las páginas funcionan fenomenal. Pero también resulta ideal para leer con ebook o tablet. Se puede variar la inclinación pues tiene varias posiciones. Y resulta muy cómodo poder guardar en su interior las gafas de lectura, el libro, etc. Solo le pondría una pega....el sistema de agarre, tipo asa de maletín, resulta endeble y es posible que se llegue a desgarrar por ser un elemento sobre el que recae el peso del soporte y todo lo que tuviera en su interior, siendo además del mismo material textil. Quizás en esto habría que mejorar el diseño. Si fuera más resistente ya sería perfecto en todo.

Ich habe keine Ahnung, wie dieser Hersteller für diesen Preis ein so gut verarbeitetes Produkt anbieten kann, aber es ist jeden einzelnen Euro wert. Aufklappen, Buch einspannen und lesen. Das Polster fühlt sich sehr gut an und rutscht auch auf meiner Bettdecke nicht herum. Die Buchhalter kreischen zwar ein wenig, halten aber sehr gut, falls ich dran denke, gebe ich noch ein Langzeitfeedback ab. Einzig und allein finde ich es schade, dass man das Gerät nicht noch ein wenig steiler aufstellen kann, was gerade im Bett hilfreich wäre.
