Best lens you'll ever use.
The Sony FE 24-70mm F2.8 GM II Lens is an exceptional lens that lives up to its big reputation. The image quality is incredibly sharp from edge to edge, with beautiful color rendition and contrast. Low light performance is excellent. The autofocus is fast, precise, and quiet, perfect for both photography and video work. The build quality feels solid and durable, yet it’s surprisingly manageable to carry around for a professional zoom lens. Whether you’re shooting portraits, landscapes, or events, this lens is versatile and reliable, making it a great investment for serious photographers. The "Tight/Loose" switch is a bit "Odd" feeling. Almost crunchy. I checked out a few lenses at my local BestBuy and all felt the same.

Exceptional Performance and Versatility in a Compact Lens
This lens is a true workhorse, perfect for a wide range of shooting scenarios from portraits to landscapes. I recently upgraded to this lens, and it has exceeded all my expectations. The image quality is exceptional, with sharpness across the entire zoom range. The f/2.8 aperture delivers beautiful bokeh and performs exceptionally well in low-light conditions, making it perfect for both indoor and outdoor photography. The build quality of the lens is top-notch, with a robust construction that feels solid and durable. Despite its high performance, it remains surprisingly compact and lightweight, making it easy to carry around for extended periods. The autofocus is fast and accurate, which is crucial for capturing fleeting moments, and the lens’s optical stabilization helps to keep images sharp even at slower shutter speeds. One of the standout features is its versatility. The 24-70mm focal length range covers a broad spectrum of shooting needs, from wide-angle landscapes to tight portraits. This makes it an ideal lens for general-purpose use, whether you’re a professional photographer or a dedicated hobbyist. Overall, the Sony FE 24-70mm F2.8 GM II Lens is an exceptional lens that delivers superb image quality and performance. Its combination of sharpness, low-light capability, and versatility makes it a valuable addition to any camera system. Highly recommended for anyone looking to elevate their photography!

Excellent service and lens!
I contacted the seller about FedEx attempting to deliver my lens to my neighbor (they weren’t home and unable to sign). They answered me right away after the holiday and made sure they made it to my house on the next attempt. Super happy with this seller! The lens itself is awesome so far. I tried it out right away to ensure it made it alright after being shuffled around with delivery. Will report back once I’ve had a chance to play and edit!

Wide zoom that creates images like your best prime !
This is super quick focusing and incredibly sharp at all focal lengths. I combined this lens with the Sony A7CII a fast and reliable camera. I’ve had over 40 years of shooting experience and this lens is one of the best, if not the best wide zoom I’ve shot. Look at the lens test on dpreview dot com to see and download raw files from this combination. My dad always said that there’s not one pair of shoes that will do it all. Same goes for lenses. But this lens will live on my camera 95% of the time.

The Only Lens You Need
If you can only get one lens for Sony mirrorless cameras - THIS IS THE ONE. Everything about it is ideal. The image quality is the best you're gonna get in its class. The autofocus is unmatched (make sure to turn on breathing compensation for the smoothest focus). If you need something tighter, activate the Super-35 mode (if you can). With an 82mm thread size, slap on a V-ND filter (K&F for me) and you can get the sharpest 2.8 aperture shots in almost any setting. Incredible performance in a great compact fit. This lens is sooooo close to perfect to me. My only wish - I'd love to see Sony come up with a way to minimize or eradicate the extended lens when zooming in or out, like they did with the 70-200mm GMII but with the small overall size of the lens, I can't imagine how tricky it would be to get it done.

Great all around. Still heavy enough. Hood bad.
Image quality and low light / speed capability superior. Great focal range from wide to short telephoto. I use mainly for landscape and travel. Great usability (buttons, placement, how it works with camera software). But, still heavy enough to be a burden to carry around everywhere if you are a minimalist. But, it’ll have to do if you want that range with low light and speed. The hood drives me nuts. Difficult to put on, always a hassle. Interior is like felt and collects all sorts of dust and pet hairs. Annoyed! My alternative considerations, as someone who has back problems and doesn’t like to carry around a lot if stuff or bulky/heavy stuff include: Replacing with Sony GM 16-35 2.8 when they make version 2, or my Tamron 17-28 2.8. My telephoto needs are already fullfilled with light weight hassle free Tamron 70-300 4.5-6.3, and I wouldn’t have to carry my Voigtlander 15mm. For landscape/travel/wildlife, I rarely use 35-65mm focal range (maybe 10-20% of time, and I feel like I could make those pics work if I didn’t have that focal range). However, being able to go from wide to short telephoto without changing lenses is valuable. Replacing with Tamron 28-200 2.8-5.6, and I could leave my Tamron 70-300 4.5-6.3 home. Lose some speed and quality for convenience. Seems liberating. But in practice will cause difficulty in the longer end capturing dawn/dusk (low light), getting sharp photos without tripod, birds/wildlife frozen in action (high shutter that low aperture enables), etc. Tamron 35-150 2-2.8 very interesting, but too heavy (~67% heavier). Tamron 28-75 2.8 I hear is comparable. Lighter and much cheaper. I would need to test. I might miss the 24mm and possibly snappy autofocus Sony-Sony has. Sigma 24-70 2.8. Heavier, albeit cheaper. Too heavy for me. Good luck!

The best lens I have ever used.
This is perhaps the best lens I have ever used. It was my one lens when backpacking across Europe taking landscapes and street photos. It is super versatile and can kinda do it all while being substantially smaller than the last iteration. I can throw it into my backpack. I have used it for portrait work as well. I will say it is borderline too sharp for portraits depending on your style if that makes sense. The AF is crazy fast on my a7r V and I don't miss shots with this lens.

Ain't Nothing But A G Thang!
It's a G Master with the price tag. Great lens and definitely a major one for the kit
