Salewa Men's Ms Mountain Trainer Lite Mid Gore-tex Trekking & Hiking Boots

These boots are very good and really are comfy to wear for long periods. Ankle support is great and are perfect for my long dog walking outings in different terrains. Will buy again but are really wearing well with daily use.

Really can't rate Salewa boots highly enough amazing all day comfort, great fit for wide feet and amazingly supportive, I've never needed to break them in and blisters have never been an issue despite many trails and mountain climbs undertaken with the several pairs I've had over the years. Only issues to bear in mind, despite the goretex and water resistance claims I've found all the Salewa boots I've owned do let water in like a sieve and the soles are not hard wearing at all, I burn through Salewas quicker than any other boot and unfortunately not been able to have them resoled, I've contacted customer services about this as it seems massively wasteful sending boots to landfill when it's only the soles that need replacing but they unfortunately don't have a repair option for UK customers to extend the life of their kit.

Coming from a Salomon quest 4dx boot user to these, Keeping this short and simple, i have worn these over 2 weeks now on daily dog walks on Dorset coastline. These are comfortable and have a good grip, at times they dont feel waterproof but I think this is due to the nature of thin material used on the walls. The laces were something to get used to on the initial use bit once set they have been fine and feel good around the ankles once tied.

So, 900km use in 14 months and they are falling apart. I've never had such a badly made boot in my life. Last time I buy from Salewa Previous Review: Really comfortable, but terrible for wet conditions So, plus points... Very comfortable, good fit, lacing and grip. They seem to be waterproof, mostly. The bad: when they get wet, they squelch. Something between the sole and the inner seems to trap water. And they STINK. They smell of wet dog. Not smelly feet smell, but damp wet stinky dog smell. Even after only being worn on a few wet outings, they can't be worn in polite company. So a waste of money, as they are used, but almost unwearable.

These are very comfortable straight out of the box. My first pair have been up mountains with me all over Europe. I bought a second pair so that I can wear the original pair for daily walking/hiking at home. The only time I do not use them is for deep snow and ice. They are not crampon compatible, they are not a full winter boot. They are fully waterproof.

I've had these boots for a while now and with several long hikes under my belt feel qualified to give them a brief review. I'm not versed in all the technical jargon but can say that the boots are comfortable and don't need a huge amount of breaking in when worn with decent socks. Lacing system is really good although I would want another few inches of lace to be perfect, I either lace one hole down or have small knots, either works fine for me. Size/Fit is as expected but always worth trying if possible

An ex put me on to this brand. I had always used cheaper brands or paid less in past. They are all I wear now. Boots and trainers. Fit and feel like. Slippers keep my feet warm and dry. And comes with a 3-year warranty with Salewa. Any issues or defects? Contact Amazon they have to refund or replace them by Salewa instructions as they don't operate in the UK sadly Bought my daughter some first time walking in them did 10 miles and she said it felt like she had her trainers on the entire time.

I found them to be a narrow fit and the sole to have no cushioning. The sole was very hard without any give. Uncomfortable. Also, marketed as a light boot but felt heavy out of the box. So much so I weighed them to compared them against my older salewa alp mate and they were much heavier. Not lite as the name suggests. Brought as a replacement for my 4 year old salewa alp mate which is an outstanding boot but these were heavier and uncomfortable

I bought these thinking I would just use them in dry hot conditions. I wore them “shed” hunting the other day and was completely blown away at how they stayed waterproof as I went through waist deep snow in some drift areas. Very happy with my purchase and love the shoes.

Very light and comfortable, still water proof after two week hiking. Fit as expected, because I always wear 44 EU Salewa boots. The sole is not very stiff and provides good grip on wet rock. Ideal hiking boot for light terrain and warm weather. The workmanship and materials are superb, but bear in mind these are hiking not mountaineering boots

Son botas de senderismo, mas para caminar que para un uso escarpado o rocoso, he visto algun comentario negativo donde el propietario le daba un uso en terrenos complicados, y para esos terrenos se utilizan otro tipo de botas, es normal que una suela estilo vibram se desgaste en un año en terrenos dificiles y rocas, es una suela de agarre, no para estresarla en piedras y rocas, es normal que el tejido se deteriore en ese tipo de terrenos, para esos terrenos se utiliza la piel o componentes sintéticos duros, no el tejido. Por lo tanto esta es una bota para usos como hacer el camino de santiago, o zonas de senderos en montaña, no es para internarse en el medio de la montaña donde te vas a encontrar con vegetacion que destroze el tejido y rocas que las desgaste, para eso están las propias botas de montaña de piel y goma dura. De momento utilizadas para senderos y para ir al trabajo, son comodas, ajuste perfecto al pie, 502 gramos en talla 40.5 que hace que no se note el peso en el pie, refuerzos en las tobilleras y talón, probada la impermeabilidad, se puede caminar horas con ellas sin fatiga, el tejido es muy rigido. Los cordones son delgados y no hacen mucha fuerza de apriete
