Gotcha Golf Tape Measure Closest To Pin Fits In Bag NEW

I have had one of these for 30-40 years. It helped quickly decide prox in many game$. It saved a lot of time instead of pacing off and guessing KP's. It reduced debates about KP's to $ilence. Then, I mistakenly let it go through the wash machine and dryer, ruining it. I figured I'd have to do without that valuable arbiter, and was downhearted. (I play about 200 games per year, so the convenience of the compact tool comes into play fairly often because we usually play proxes.) I was incredulous when I went online and found I could get another in a matter of a couple of days. It's reassuring to know I have a brand new Gotcha back in my golfing arsenal. I won't step onto the first tee without it, and my fellow players EXPECT me to have it in the bag !!! It's easily paid for itself many, many times over. I was so excited to get this! I was measuring closest to pin & It broke the first time I used it! Disappointed!

Compact, and relatively easy to use, but the string it's made out of is flimsy and won't last long.

I bought four of these for our golf league for "Closest to the Pin" measurement. Periodically one will get "stuck" and not extend or retract. I pop them open, add some lube and snap them together with a few small dabs of glue. I have to repair one of the four about every 10 rounds. The wind-up handle has broken on one....I repaired it with a wooden dowel. If you are only a casual user or handy with maintenance they're ok....otherwise skip it.
