This book was purchased through a private seller to save a few dollars, and the book came practically new. The book arrived on time and was nicely sealed. As for the book, it’s full of pictures and techniques you can use for making wood carvings. It’ll discuss and suggest other tools that are available to make your creation. If you work with wood in creative ways or know someone who does, it’s a great book.

This book covers all the major points to producing power carved projects. The 16 favorite projects are excellent and cover the spectrum from beginner to serious advanced carving. The book has excellent illustrations and notes on technique that I find helpful as a novice carver.

Not as specific as I would have liked but has some good stuff, Not really a "manual" just gives ideas. Wanted more about using specific bits, etc. Has some very good info tho' and is somewhat useful.

This is a compendium book, a collection of articles from a trade magazine. I don't usually use such books, but this one has been very useful. If you get this book, read it and then go on to Frank Russell's books on power carving for more organized instruction. The variety in this book is useful.

This Book was extremely helpful. It had pictures to go along with explanations and I finally know how to use my rotary tool (dremel)!

Guess I'll still use my knives, gouges and chisels but this book shows you what tools to use and how to use them to get amazing and fast results. I have a $900 set of German made tools and haven't used any of them since I went to power carving.

I learned a lot about using my new foredom. I'd never power carved before.

Love carving and this has lots of helpful hints and ideas. Very instructive and useful to any carver! Would say anyone who carves will finds this book very beneficial!!!

Excellant book on power carving

Having been swayed by the previous reviewer's comments on this book, I bought it. Really glad I did and if I had bought this book first before venturing into power carving I would have saved myself time and money on unnecessary purchases of equipment. The book is well laid out, very clear and will be a constant reference for me. If you are thinking of getting into power carving then this book should be your first puchase then make your choices of equipment etc. Another book you might want to consider along with this book is "The Art of Stylized Wood Carving" - Charles Solomomn and David Hamilton. Once again, the book concentrates on Power Carving with some great inpirational pictures and five 'do-able' projects to get you started in power carving.

Money well spent will get read again and again

Very informative with easy to follow direction. a good starting point for detailed carving and the required tools
