This device saved me a good chunk of change. I have a balanced cable with modular interconnects but this was cheaper and faster to get than buying a replacement interconnect. It works well, as expected. The small length of cable between the ports is valuable for portable devices. the other option is to have a double length connector sticking out, which is awkward and creates a longer lever to potentially damage your DAP just by walking around. This reduces the risk to the same as you'd have if your headphones had a 4.4mm connector.

The cable does its job

This is the 2nd adapter I bought. Because it’s everything I needed. I use this for my mobile set ups. Astell & kern XB 10 Bluetooth mobile dac/amp 2.5 to dac 3.5 to headphone cable to headphones. Also 2.5 directly into headphones 3.5 to headphone cable an cable to shanling m3ultra. Also a few other types of mobile dac/amp set ups. Perfect for this type of set up. Price was mid tier Incase I actually lost it along my travels.connections fit snug. Wire coating is braided thickish rubber easy to clean if needed. or gets wet as it has many times. Built very well for mobility. Would I use this for strictly home use YES. If it was strictly home use I could step up on the tier level. Probably won’t really loose it as I would being mobile.the two connections are metal or aluminum along those materials. It definitely won’t pull apart on rough use. It’s actually a great addition for any type music situation. Hope this helps everyone out.

After trying a dozen different adapters, finally landed on one that does exactly what I needed it to. Take 2.5mm balanced headphones and convert to 3.5mm Single Ended for normal headphone jack use. Works great so far.
