Good Quality
Quality is quite good, squareness is right on and movement of the sliding vernier is relatively smooth (though not as smooth as the Starrett equivalent). Also comes in a pretty nice case and (minimal) inspection reports. It appears that Shars USA inspects each unit upon arrival from China.

Nice tool.
This tool is very nice for the price. It’s probability better than I am. But I don’t know what a better height gauge would do better than this tool.

Accurate and repeatable readings, carbide bit could be sharper.

I love this thing, just lacks an additional electronic gauge
I have never before bought something that was packaged for shipping as good as this. They took care in protecting the precision measurement instrument. Comes in a blow molded plastic case, perfect for carrying around the shop. Somehow the 12 inch was cheaper than the 6 inch

So far has been working great

Bigger than I imagined, in person
Probably all I'll ever need. Unless something comes along where you need the taller one, probably order the smaller one. Big shop, the big one.

Can not repeat a zero measurement to save its life!
This was supposed to be a fairly accurate tool with an accuracy advertised as ±0.0012" so I should expect my zero point to be repeatable to within that tolerance/distance. However, what I find is that if I zero it on a piece of glass and then run it up to 1.400" and back to zero it is off as much as .005". I might as well be using a tape measure with accuracy like this. I would definitely recommend looking elsewhere for a precision measuring tool.

Repeats and measures accurately. Quality and precision exceeds the price level.
