Replaced the passenger side cam and 1 rocker that had failed causing damage to the cam and created a loud ticking. Watched a YouTube video “ you’ll need a timing gear lock tool “ cheap on Amazon. Easy job and ticking is GONE. Have 5k miles on it so far and all good !

Been in the engine for 6000 miles and seem to be working great so far. I replaced both cams and followers during a timing chain replacement. One of the original followers went bad at 220,000 miles of service and wiped a lobe so replacing both cams and all the followers seemed like a good idea. If any problems occur I'll be sure to update!

Be aware that these are only enough for one side and if you're planning on doing both sides you will need to order two sets.....

This item had dark grease handprints on the outer and inner box material. The boxes inside had also been partially torn open and resealed. The plastic bags covering the cams had also been torn open and then resealed. This item was apparently previously sold to someone who opened it, re-boxed it all and returned it. It was sent to me as a new item. It was immediately returned as unacceptable.A "new" item is one that has not been sold to anyone previously and the internal boxes and packaging are all originally sealed and without greasy handprints on the packaging and items.

The Ford 5.4L 3V engines are known for their poor service of Valve and Timing components due to poor oil pressure. The fix is about $1000 if you can do it yourself. That would include all new OEM timing components and a new Melling high volume oil pump. If you are comfortable following well made videos, check out "Fordtechmakuloco 5.4L 3V timing". The parts are all here on Amazon and the videos are step by step. You won't regret having a vehicle that performs like new again.
