Testo 316-3 I Refrigerant Leak Detector I High Sensitivity Detector for Refrigerant substances

The Testo 316-3 refrigerant leak detector is one of the most sensitive R-22 leak detectors available. It doesn’t have high sensitivity for R-410a. I personally keep at least Two leak detector on my truck. I keep a R-22 (Testo 316-3) and separate R-410a leak detectors. I use the Testo 316-4 and Fieldpiece DR85 for finding R-410a leaks. You won’t be disappointed in its ability to locate very small r-22 leaks! Highly recommend.

When I used this for the first time for leak detection I found no leaks in the brazed joints. However, it did find a very small leak in one of the valve cones with only a trace amount of R410a and 150 psi N2.

Nothing to dislike

Have owned this tool since 2021 and have had to replace sensors multiple times. I understand this is to be expected but honestly the tool had very light usage. I don't recommend them. Also have had some false positives. The sensor for this product is expensive and hard to find now. I would recommend going with a product from a company that intends to stay in the business long term.
