Bought this switch to replace the ignition switch on a Ford Transit Van. Easy to fit in minutes and cured the starting problem, all for under £10. I am really happy.

Since I bought the old Mondeo last year, it's been randomly cutting out which was a bit scary when it happened. Every cut out saw the courtesy light come on, and so I knew it was something to do with the key. Further investigation found the key wouldn't stay firm in the start position and just the slightest movement saw the car "switch off". I tried blasting the inside of the barrel with WD40 and Contact cleaner - seemed to be OK for a while but the issue came back last week with the car starting and immediately "switching off". Many forums talked about a barrel problem, or source a barrel repair kit but I saw one mention that it could be the ignition switch. This replacement switch arrived today, took about an hour to install (you need a real flat flat-headed screwdriver to prise off the old switch) and hey presto...all fixed!!! Just can't believe how easy, cheap and quick it was to fix something that was really starting (pardon the pun) to worry me.
