If you're looking at this just buy it already
Im running this in a Photo and Video only NAS. It works great. Came in great packaging. Only suggestion I have is try and not buy all your drives for your nas from one place so you can get different batches so if a batch is bad you don't loose everything.

N300 being sold as N300 Pro!
Bought the 8TB N300 Pro drive. Toshiba website says that the 8TB N300 Pro drives (Model HDWG480XZSTB) have a 5 year warranty. However, immediately after I received the drive, I checked (as I always do) at the Toshiba warraty website for the warranty status. The status showed that the product is "out of warranty." I called the support line, and the agent told me that in spite of what I am seeing, the drive's warranty actually expires on 2025/06/22. When I asked why there is only 2.5 years of warranty is left for a drive with 5 year warranty, the agent confirmed that the serial number shows that it is an N300 drive, not an N300 Pro drive, and the N300 drives have only 3 year warranty! Therefore, I strongly believe that N300 drives are being advertized and sold as N300 Pro drives!! Luckily, since I checked the status right after I received the drive, I could return the drive to Amazon. Watch out!

Buyer beware, there is no manufacturer warranty.
Have a drive failing outside the Amazon return window but well within the standard Toshiba manufacturer warranty window. However, the drive serial number is showing as not covered by warranty on the Toshiba support website. Says to contact the seller. Amazon just says it outside the return window. I’ve escalated the issue to some sort of higher level within Amazon customer service but still waiting to see if there is any resolution. Update, was eventually able to get warranty coverage through Toshiba but had to talk to a real person since their automated warranty system didn’t recognize the drive serial number from my Amazon purchase.

Repackaged system pull?
The model number on the drive I received doesn't match what was ordered. It's an OEM drive either pulled from another system or intercepted somewhere in the supply chain and placed in a reused box. Toshiba does not offer any warranty on the drive I received according to their website. For used drives or system pulls we would surely source elsewhere for less. I feel that 2-stars is generous considering the deception. The drive does work and I'm not opposed to system pulls but they should not be mixed up and sold as new retail channel drives under warranty when they're not even the same part number.
