FANTASTIC desk fan that requires a lot of water
This is a desk fan, NOT a mini air conditioner. That said, it blows somewhat cooler air than a simple fan, which is fantastic at this price point. Its reasonably quiet at low speed, though fairly loud at high speed. As you would expect. There was no assembly, and setup was very easy. I seriously considered rating it only 4 stars, as it requires a lot of water while operating. It runs out of water in around 4 hours of continual use at the lowest level. This is a drawback. Another drawback is that it is very hard to see how much water remains, due to an odd design flaw. Despite these drawbacks it merits 5 stars because as a desk fan at this price point it is remarkably good.

works really well
Ive seen these around for a few years. They keep getting smaller. This item is great. Hard to believe the cold air coming out of a little box plugged into a USB port. Its quiet.

Works well with a few issues
Works well for its price, however has a few issues. Most notably, the USB-C port is located directly underneath the port to fill the water tank, meaning if you happen to spill any water, it's likely to drip directly into the port. Also, the removable cooling pad is difficult to remove; it felt like the housing for it was about to snap. The cooling pad stays moist for a while, and the fan is decently quiet if not at max speed. It does work well in a warm, dry room. Just recommend you have a small funnel to refill the tank.

Possibly the best fan I've ever bought.
I am a true mid westerner. I sleep with a fan, and prefer something that drowns out the silence and crickets and coyotes! This fan is perfect, has an incredible hum, and blows like a true Michigan wind! Which is like, 35mph on a good day. I highly recommend this fan! It's small, smaller than my usual go to box fan, but this one can fit anywhere and doesn't overwhelm small spaces! It also tilts, so on a warm night it can aim exactly where you want it. I was unsure if I would like it, but it's turned out to be the best purchase. Also, very easy to clean!

Good fan! Mediocre longevity.
I originally bought this fan July 2023 and it worked great! Fit just fine in my bathroom window and ran quietly. Unfortunately now, about 2 and a half years later it's making loud grinding sounds when starting, a lot slower to start and sometimes I really need to hit it for it to start at all. I wouldn't be surprised if it dies completely soon.

Almost dead after 2.5 years.
I went through a few different fans. Finally stopped when I bought this. I bought this particular size because I have a limit in how much I can open my window. Otherwise, I would totally love to open my window more and get a bigger fan. It's been 2.5 years and now it's on the verge of dying. That may sound negative but hear me out. Firstly, in low speed, it's pretty quiet. I leave it on all night long. Does it move enough air in my 100 sq/ft room? some may say no but it keeps the air from feeling stale (in low speed) so I will say yes. This is my "window" fan as I leave it by the window the whole time. For me, I have this fan on constantly. sometimes 24/7, especially during the Summer time. It will bring in just enough air from the outside to keep the room feeling non-irritating to where I don't feel the need to use an Air conditioner. I live in a climate BTW where the summer days get about 110 F but can drop down to about 75F by dawn on a hot day. The fan has lasted through hot days and cool, windy days and even dusty windy days. The latter - dusty days may have shortened my fan's life as dust may have gotten into the motor and is now causing some issues. The only downside with this fan for me is I can't open it up and clean it. I have attempted but it was pretty hard... and I open up and tear apart many things so I would like to consider myself better than the average person...i'm a tinkerer. Anyway, due to the lack of ability to clean, I believe my fan's life was shortened and now as another summer is around the corner with La Nina said to affect the weather, I am once again shopping for a new fan. I would buy this again but I am going to see if I can find something where i can open up and clean easily. Clean fan and clean blades just makes the air feel crisper to me. So would I recommend this fan? yes I will, as long as size is accomodating to you. It's worked hard over the years and I am mostly happy with the product.

Compact and refreshing desktop cooler with a few quirks
Why did you pick this product vs others?: The BLACK+DECKER Desktop Air Cooler (BDMC10) is a compact powerhouse that brings a pleasant, misty chill to personal workspaces. Its 0.5 L water tank cools quickly, and with three fan speeds, it’s easy to dial in comfort for your desk, bedside, or home office. The cooling effect is noticeably better than a standard fan, perfect for dry or stuffy rooms. I appreciate how lightweight and portable it is, it’s easy to move around, and the simple controls are intuitive. The unit also includes a basic filter to trap dust, which is a nice extra for allergen-conscious users. On the downside, the water tank needs frequent refilling—roughly every 4–5 hours on high speed and the mist can sometimes leave a slight damp spot nearby, so I keep a coaster or cloth under it. Also, it’s best used in well-ventilated spaces, as the evaporative cooling is less effective in high humidity. Overall, this cooler is a solid pick if you’re after affordable, breezy comfort in smaller spaces. It’s not a full-room air conditioner, but it shines at providing personal cooling when you need it most.

Decent Airflow with Design Flaws
Black & Decker 15.6-inch Floor Fan This fan has some notable design flaws and material issues that impact its performance and usability. The most significant problem is the hollow, lightweight base, which is the source of a persistent, low-frequency vibration. If the fan isn't set on a perfectly flat surface, the vibration is noticeably worse and creates a distracting noise. The on/off knob on the back is difficult to grip and turn. A more serious issue is the angle adjustment knobs, which consistently loosen on their own during operation. This causes the fan head to slowly tilt out of position, requiring frequent re-adjustments. The fan arrived with these tilt knobs off, and they were rolling around loose in the box. The overall build quality seems cheap due to the thin plastic materials and hallow base. The “modern styling” of the two-tone black and white color scheme is also a questionable design choice; a consistent single color would have been better. In summary, while the fan moves air and is surprisingly quiet on its lowest setting, its poor material quality and design flaws, especially the vibration and tilting head, make this a disappointing purchase.
