So happy I tried PHYTO!
After a polar haircare disaster I was scared to try anything else. I went with the light golden brown tho it appeared to he lighter than my natural hair color. It still came put pretty dark.. very dark brown. (Im tempted to try the dark blonde and see how it comes out.)Its a gorgeous color though. I washed it once so far and it didn't seem to fade at all. It covered all my grays and after my first shampoo i didnt notice any fading, though im washing in cold water with redken color protect. I was very impressed with the coverage especially considering it didnt stain my skin at all.

Works for me!
I HATE coloring my hair! I put it off as long as I can because nothing about the process is pleasant. I’m 62 and have probably been doing this for more than 30 years. I was a long time L’Oreal user and did also try salon highlights several years back. My sister recommended Phyto to me and I’ve now used it about 5x. Here’s my take: - My favorite thing about it is that it fades very naturally all over. I am able to go 4-5 months without a problem. I can only do this because I’m fine with the gray showing through over time. I’ve grown to kind of like that look! I feel like I’m not trying too hard at my age, yet I haven’t given in to going totally gray, which would also not complement my coloring. I don’t get that horrible line of demarcation that I did with L’Oreal. - I do still have some itchiness and hair loss. It’s not terrible but not really any change from before. - I used to love the included masque and had even bought it years ago as a color care conditioner before trying the this product, but it seems to me that Phyto has changed that formula in the last couple years and it’s now just okay. - I dislike how thick the whole product is! It probably takes me more than 5 minutes of shaking before it looks decently mixed and ready to use. Obviously a relatively minor thing, and it IS nice that it’s not prone to dripping everywhere, but it’s one of the things that makes me hate the task. - Believe the reviews about this running dark and maybe try a lighter shade than you would ordinarily go for. - Cost is more than L’Oreal, but I think it’s worth it (no pun intended!) Cheers!

False Advertising - does not cover greys
This. Is. Crap. I followed the instructions exactly, including leaving it on longer due to my roots being over 50% gray. It did not cover ANY of the gray; my roots look exactly the same as they did prior to application.

Great but may take time to find right color
Ok, first about the color. I think my conclusion is that the colors are just gonna come out a bit differently on different people's hair and you may have to try different ones til you find the one that works for you. I went with 5.7 light chestnut brown, and it turned out a DARK, chocolate brown. I purposefully didn't go with the chestnut brown because of the reviews, thinking the *light* chestnut brown would be more like a medium brown, but it was definitely dark brown for me (darker than pics of the same color for some others). Not bad, thankfully I look okay with a darker hue, but I'm gonna progressively try lighter shades until I get to the one I actually want. Regarding coverage, I'd say the grey coverage is very good. There are always a sneaky few that I somehow miss, but otherwise it covered my roots well. The formula is definitely not too drying. I used a different brand before (with ammonia) and it took a couple weeks for my hair to get back to a normal moisture level, after very dedicated conditioning and moisturizers. Phyto didn't dry my hair out at all, so that was really great, especially as a curly haired gal. I am disappointed by one thing, though. The other brand I tried before, with ammonia), resulted in my hair falling out in larger amounts than my non-colored hair. I read that that's a pretty common result of the chemicals, so that's why I wanted to try Phyto to see if it would be different. So far it hasn't improved, though - my hair is still falling out at the same larger amount. I'm hopeful this may still improve in time, but it may be that Phyto is no different in that way. Still a great product, though, and I like that it seems to be gentler chemicals, so I will continue to use and work on finding the best color for me.
