My aunt is in a rehab facility and isn't allowed to have a microwave, so finding a safe way for her to warm up leftovers has been a challenge. We've tried a couple of other portable food warmers in the past, but they got way too hot inside (almost scorching), which made them unsafe and unusable for her. She just plugs it into the wall outlet (110V mode works great there), places her leftovers inside, and in 10-20 minutes, her food is nicely warmed through—hot enough to enjoy but never burning or drying out. The gentle, even heating is a huge win; it feels more like a slow, controlled reheat than anything aggressive. When she's done, she simply unplugs it to turn it off—no complicated buttons or timers to worry about. Update: I did finally hear from the manufacturer. FYI: if you need to contact them, email the address in the manual that came with the item instead of following the contact instructions on Amazon. They did respond there and sent me the right cord. It took a little while, but they were communicative about it. The item works exactly as I hoped it would. I chose this model because of the flexibility of using your own containers, as opposed to the last warmer I bought that only came with its own proprietary sized container. It has room for a variety of sizes and you can use metal, glass, or even plastic (though I personally choose not to use plastic in it for potential health reasons.) Speaking of plastic, it does give of a little bit of a “hot plastic” smell, but not as bad as the previous brand I owned. The build quality feels very quality, it holds shape well, and the zipper works really well. It heats my food to more than adequate temperatures, and I was even able to cook liquid eggs into “scrambled” eggs in a glass container with some oil, salt, and pepper without any runny parts remaining. I chose this specific model because of the flexibility of plugging into AC or DC so I can plug it into the car or to my Jackery while on the go. From what I can ascertain, it does run at a higher wattage on AC vs DC, 80 vs 60 if I remember right, so AC should theoretically cook faster than DC. I will have to confirm this through use. My instinct is to update my review to 4 stars from 1 since I received the DC power cord eventually. But on the product’s actual functional merit, it has definitely been a 5 star experience so I will update it as such. Hopefully this has been helpful to you the prospective buyer. Original review: I was looking forward to trying this out, but unfortunately I have not been able to use it at all yet. Instead of receiving an AC cord and a DC cord, I received 2 AC cords. So there’s no way for me to try it in the car, which is the entire reason I ordered it. I have emailed the company on their website form, as instructed, twice now, and have not heard anything from anyone.

The Aotto Portable Oven, Electric Lunch Box Food Heater works perfect. My Husband goes to Dialysis he comes out at 5:00 pm he has to eat this items keeps the food nice and hot. I heated some Burritos about 20 minutes before he came out form Dialysis and they were perfect to eat.

I bought 10 of these in different colors as gifts for my coworkers. I owned one, but it's a different brand, and I was drawn to this because it's bigger, and you can plug it into the car or at the office. So far, all my coworkers are loving their new gift, and they say it warms the food faster than they thought. To me, it's priceless to be part of their health journey. I like all the colors; I literally bought all of them. The quality of the materials is excellent and its easy to clean.

My husband is really enjoying his portable heat source. Now he can heat up just about anything anywhere he's working. He's told me it works better than he was expecting and makes things not warm but hot. He plans ahead and plugs it in and goes back to work till lunch time.

This is an absolute game changer to be able to have a hot lunch if you are one that is on the road or works outside in winter. Canadian winters can mean your lunch might have froze. Sandwiches can get tiring. With this, you can take left overs or anything and have a hot meal! Bonus that it includes both AC and DC power adapters. For a container: using the LocknLock steel food storage container with lid so far has been the best. The bottom of the container stays in contact with the warming plate. Did also get the Rubbermaid Brilliance containers but they have a slight lip on the bottom so doesn't sit completely against the warming plate. Would have been great to have this when we used to do long road trips with kids.
