My Book of Little House Paper Dolls: The Big Woods Collection

This is a lovely product! I would say for ages 5-11 depending what level of fine motor skills your child has developed. The dolls require lots of cutting out before they can be played with. But it is a really neat, big set of dolls. I love the stands that come with the dolls so they can stand by themselves. Any little girl into Laura Ingalls would love this adorable, sturdy and affordable product!

I bought each of our twin granddaughters a set of these paper dolls when they were about four years old because they love The Little House books and the characters. They are now six and have played with this set over and over and still love them! These paper dolls are reminiscent of the paper dolls I played with as a child. Yes, they have to be cut out by hand but once that's done they provide hours of imaginative play. The clothing and accessories are colorful and interesting. Well worth the effort!

My young preschooler and I have been reading the My First Little House books together and she always has lots of questions about the page in the Winter in the Big Woods book about the paper dolls that Ma cuts out for Laura and Mary, so I was so happy to find this paper doll toy for sale! It was my present to her on Christmas Day and I don't know who loves it more, myself or my daughter! It brings back my own fond memories of reading the LH books and watching the series. Recommend using a sharp pair of scissors and be prepared to pace yourself when cutting out as I found my hand got quickly tired. So we work on one or two set of dresses at a time. My daughter really enjoys dressing the dolls up and setting them in front of the sweet little background scene provided. All in all a great and "slow time" toy for a child who likes the Little House series or just enjoys dressing paper dolls.

I bought this for my five-year-old daughter who loves all things Little House and all things paper dolls. She also loves all things having to do with scissors, which is a pretty key ingredient for this paper doll set. The dolls themselves do punch out but there is a LOT of cutting involved in getting the rest cut out. I wouldn't recommend this for a child who isn't old enough to cut things out very well or for a parent who doesn't want to take the time to cut it all out themselves! It was perfect for my girl, though. And we have really appreciated that the outfits included here are the same ones pictured in the "My First Little House" books. Ma's dress looks like the one she wore in "Dance at Grandpa's," that kind of thing. My daughter really enjoyed being able to go through and see which outfits the Ingalls family is wearing in which of the books. Everything is good quality and I am somewhat surprised by the low price of this after we've played with it for a good amount of time. I would definitely recommend this over the Melissa & Doug magnetic "paper" dolls; my daughter certainly likes them much better. I will note that we decided to laminate the dolls so they would last longer, and that has worked well. We didn't laminate the clothes, as we wanted the tabs to be able to bend, so it is a little more awkward to dress the dolls in the various outfits, but it's still doable. I have these on my shopping list for other girls in the future. This makes a sweet gift all by itself.

We just got this for our daughter for Christmas. There is a lot of cutting but the set is high quality and I appreciate all the details. The two odd things I noticed is that Mary’s dress didn’t fit over her shoulders due to her hair. I had to make a cut in the doll to get the dress tabs to fold. Also the set mentions the ability to insert a “night” window but that doesn’t seem possible without tape.

This is such a great hands on item for young girls. My 5 year old granddaughter was so excited. I got this for her after reading Little House In the Big Woods

These are adorable and such a nice change from Barbies and such. It includes background scenes as well and they are nice and colorful, and printed on a nice, heavy gauge paper so they seem like they will hold up really well to little hands playing with them. I think every little girl needs paper dolls, and they are so hard to find these days, like so many of the good old play things from a couple of decades ago. Good imaginative play value, and no compromising values with the skimpily dressed paper dolls you can find these days. Just adorable for young girls. Nice parent/child bonding time.

Good playtime accessory for acting out "Little House" stories with granddaughter

My little girl and I have had great fun with this, we cut out pieces together as some are a bit fiddly. It has a good variety of clothes etc to play with, we used a cardboard box to make a house to go with the ingles family. We have had hours of fun with it.

I had these as a child and was so excited to find these for my own girls. They had so much fun playing with the dolls and they’re so easy to store away.

Amazing set of dolls. So real, calm, atmospheric. We used an advice from another reviewer here on Amazon and glued figures and clothes to harder paper. Hope this way they will last longer.
