Awesome build quality!
As soon as I open the box and took this knife out, I was incredibly impressed with the aesthetics of the knife and the build quality. It is a very solid knife and I just love the beautiful handle and ornate played it markings. The knife comes very sharp right out of the box. It cut through tomatoes like a hot knife through butter. I was able to cut very thin tomato slices. Vegetables for a stir fry didn't stand a chance against this knife. It cut through zucchinis and broccoli with ease. This knife would also do a great job in trimming tri-tip steak or cutting tuna into thin slices for sushi. The knife comes with a cover to store it in a drawer so that you don't cut yourself which is a bonus. His knife is worth every penny and has improved my kitchen prep. This knife got very good reviews and I can confirm those good reviews.

Same great knife, beautiful handle
I recently purchased this knife with a different handle. My wife loved it so much that she wanted another one for when the other knife is dirty. The only difference between the two knives is the handle. The one I originally purchased had a traditional handle, but this one has a beautiful, blue fish bone pattern. What can I say about this knife that I didn't say in my previous review? The knife is a chef's knife, meaning it has many different functions, including cutting meat, fish, vegetables, etc. The handle is very comfortable and feels balanced in your hand as your performing your cutting tasks. The blade itself is 8 inches long and beautiful in design. It is very sharp and hardened steel and one of the best knives I have ever owned. I have bought more expensive knives that weren't this nice, but this one is a cut above the rest!

Just a great knife
Chef here, I use this knife daily! This is a fantastic knife. Great edge retention, sturdy blade. I don't have to worry about chipping the tip or edge as much as I have with other knifes. Also, it's really comfortable. The blade is just the right width, and just the right weight to take on tough jobs like breaking down whole tuna or grouper, or cutting through dense vegetables. It's got what I want in a knife. Only thing is it's just the slightest bit handle heavy. Not by much. But if I could change one thing it would be that. Still my favorite knife I've owned to date!

NOT Damascus, but very nice for my needs
Very small hands here, and I am still a neophyte when it comes to cooking, so to me this is a wonderful knife that is easy to use and very sharp. The handle is perfect for my little palms, and I have been able to do many things with this knife that a larger knife makes impossible. I am very happy with its function. With that said, it is by no means a true Damascus blade, and I'm somewhat ashamed of myself for expecting it to be at such a low price. Damascus is made of many folds, and the pattern runs through the metal as a result of the folding process. As you can see by the edge, the pattern on this knife is strictly on the surface. It is purely ornamental, and will probably wear off with time. While this may be a little bit misleading, it by no means impacts the functionality of the knife. I was chopping garlic, ginger, and dark chocolate all day today and this thing still tried to take off my fingernail, lol. It is the sharpest thing I've ever handled. I will be curious to see how long this edge lasts, and how it handles sharpening. As someone who is finally starting to learn her way around the kitchen, I am impressed with this knife and it is going to be my daily go-to. I should have known better than to expect a true Damascus for this price, so I am a little disappointed, but overall I cannot rate this knife poorly because it functions better than any knife I have had to date. My butcher friend will probably fuss at me, and tell me I should have gotten something of a higher grade steel and less ornamentation, so I just won't show it to him, lol.

My best knife
I worked in food service for 2 years with this knife and it still remains to be one of my sharpest, most striking, most durable tools that I’ve bought. The blade has a perfect thickness to it, making it a breeze to cut through all varieties of meat and vegetables, while maintaining a nice thinner edge that allows precise work with fruits without bruising or crushing over time. Balance feels good in the hand and stays sharp for a long time before I ever had to hone my blade.

Very high quality knife, you won't regret it
I was purchased this knife on a whim, looking to make my cooking experience better. I was skeptical ordering a knife with so few reviews, but have been so surprised by the quality. It is very well balanced and sturdy. The blade is well secured to the handle. The Damascus coating is very attractive to look at. It is very well paired to the handle and appears much more expensive than it is. I will warn you that this knife is extremely sharp. I would not leave it out around children or pets as it could probably cause significant damage. Overall, this is a very high quality knife and I hope I can use it to impress my friends with my upgraded kitchen knife skills with it.

High quality sharp knife with comfortable grip
I cook a lot and have been using this knife for most of my cutting duties since I got it. Overall the build quality is good and it's very sharp. The edge has been holding up perfectly. I really like the rounded shape of the handle and the overall balance. It's a bit heavy for a Japanese style knife, but in a good way. Feels more like a western chef's knife with a better grip. I also love the box and free knife cover. 5 out of 5 value for sure.

Not VG10
Edge rolls easily. Was decently sharp out of the box, but lost its edge rather quickly. Ran the bade over a 3000 grit whetstone and strop to bring the edge back. Needs sharpening pretty much after every use. Looks great, but that’s about it. I’m not sure the steel of the blade, but it’s not VG10.
