Half Baked Harvest Every Day: Recipes for Balanced, Flexible, Feel-Good Meals: A Cookbook : Gerard, Tieghan: desertcart.ae: Books Review: A great read and a good find... probably better suited for the international food palate. Review: I own too many cookbooks. For real. But I've moved a few off my kitchen bookshelf to make room for this one and her other one too. Most of the recipes are relatively simple, weeknight friendly cooking. In the first week I made the spicy noodles (definitely something I'll keep in the rotation), the gyros (using leftover lamb but following the rest of the recipe) and the banana chocolate chip pancakes with maple cinnamon butter (an over-the-top family breakfast for sure)..but I have post-it notes on many more recipes that I want to try. Both the noodles and the gyros were just as delicious leftover as they were the night I made them. The photos are inspiring, the recipes always have interesting twists even when they are more traditional dishes. The roasted garlic tzatziki (for the gyros) was amazing. No really exotic ingredients, although a few have things I don't usually keep in my pantry, but will start to from now on...so basically new "discoveries" for me that I am enjoying.

This is it. This is the cookbook. I have a rich collection of recipe books, and this one outshines the majority of them. It’s everything I could want in a cookbook. These recipes are creative, simple but with the perfect amount of complexity, healthy and most importantly, flavourful. They are very well-balanced and I’m thrilled that she has more so I can purchase those as well.

I saw this book in New York but it was on my last day and it was too heavy to carry, so I was delighted to find it on Amazon (and cheaper than it was in NYC!) It's an amazing book; I really never thought I'd buy yet another cookery book but this one is hard to resist. In a few weeks I've tried 9 of the recipes and have been delighted with the results. The recipes are straightforward with easy-to-find ingredients (the author does keep suggesting you use pink Himalayan salt, but as I've found that apart from its appearance it's no different from other salt I don't bother). The full-page photographs are beautifully done, it includes a section of delicious vegetarian dishes as well as plenty of chicken, beef and fish ideas, desserts, soups, salads and breakfasts. I'd recommend it to anyone who loves cooking.
