This cable worked great for connecting my new computer to my old monitor. It's connected quickly between the two devices. And I get great picture and sound through it. Length of the cable was really nice I had plenty to connect between the two. Also had a great price.

Everything worked great! The original delivery date was a couple weeks out, but I got it a few days earlier than expected.

While it is easy to use and works in a pinch, the viewing quality is not as sharp and bright as the OEM cable. It is not so bad that I wouldn't use it. If you are in a position where you need an HDMI end to hook into your laptop, computer or tablet and a VGA end to hook in your projector, then it's certainly worth using.

I had just received a new computer, and my monitors of the older units had the older connections and not an HDMI. So this item solved how I could connect with the new computer, and it worked fine. It was a short solution because I soon upgraded to HDMI, and after that had no use for this device.

When I was displaced last year after being at the company for 20 years, I had to return my work computer...understandable. That's all the equipment the company wanted returned. This left me with a keyboard and a nice monitor. After using my new laptop's keyboard and monitor, it was time to purchase cables that would enable me to use the monitor and keyboard (see my other review on the keyboard adapter). The challenge was the monitor used the VGA cord and my laptop had a C USB. I found the correct adapter, ordered it, and am now using the monitor and keyboard. What a difference!! Truth be told, technology and I are like oil and water...we will not mix!! The set up was easy!! Some positives: 1) this is affordable; 2) easy to install; 3) Amazon is true to their word and it was delivered in 24 hours. Thank you Amazon!!

Update 8/17/2017 My cable stopped working today. Audio and picture, both. I have not even had it 3 months and it stopped working. Tested it on 2 TVs and 1 computer monitor. Nothing at all. I am disappointed because it worked so well. ______________________________________________________________ So far this thing is a life saver. All of the HDMI ports on my TV got fried by a nearby lightning strike and this converter makes my TV work again. The VGA port still works so I use this cable to plug into the VGA port and the 3.5mm audio cable into my soundbar for audio. I plugged the HDMI end into a 1/5 HDMI hub. Now I can run up to 5 HDMI devices off of this one cable plugged into my working VGA port. Now, I have not messed around with it much but there is a faint line across 2/3 of the screen width towards the top of the screen but I think the VGA might just need to be seated again. I will mess around with it later and see if I can resolve it. But it is very faint.

I had a monitor that kept turning off every now and then. I narrowed it down to being the cable. I bought this cable and there is no more intermitent switching off of the monitor anymore.

Connected a VGA monitor to my laptop and it seamlesly worked with both EXTENDED & DUPLICATE display mode. Only catch would be audio missing thru the cable but anyway can be gained from Motherboard....
