this item will fit your vehicle. I assume you are getting a check engine light. I was getting a purge valve code on my 2006 & I replaced it with this,solved the problem. you might have to drive it a few miles before the light goes out(mine was about 2 miles). it's been over a year now & the code has not reappeared.

Do i have to replace the hard plastic hose with the same type hose or can it be a different kind of hose

I replaced mine with a flexible fuel line hose, unsure what diameter. I had to replace this part at about 40k so I changed the line then. It made things a lot easier when I had to change it at 90k.
