Dog Lying Callosity Bandage/Dog Elbow Bandage/Dog Hygroma Bandage (Black, M)

This product is great. Our 16-year old Border Collie obsessive licks one elbow causing a constant open wound. After a month of twice-a-day bandaging we finally healed her last wound. After two days without bandaging, she had reopened the wound slightly. Luckily, this product arrived on day 3. We put it on and after two days the wound closed back up. She does still lay and obsessively lick the callosity bandage but the elbow is thoroughly protected now and she can do no damage. We have struggled for years with this issue but think this product is going to permanently solve the problem. We did have some problems in sizing and the vendor was wonderful in resolving that at no extra expense to us. They also made us aware that an extension is available for across the back if needed. A medium size worked for our 40-lb Border Collie although it barely closes at her shoulder. Two comments for the vendor: (1) Perhaps you should label which is the left and which is the right bandage. On the Amazon pictures, the stuffed dog is shown wearing it one way and the real dog is wearing it the other way (based on the location of the white label). We tried it both ways and settled on the one where her gait was best. We elected not to use the front cross strap and it is working well. (2) I saw other reviewers that had an issue with your product barely closing across the back. I know you can supply an extension if needed but perhaps the design should be adjusted a little? Just a couple of thoughts, but thanks again for your excellent support and product.

We have a 10 month old male German shepherd that has a hygroma. This product may work well for an elderly inactive dog but for an extremely active one, not so much. It was very restrictive for movement and he had them off in record time. It does take a bit to fit them but even with the chest strap he looked and acted like he was in a straight jacket. Theres an etsy site that makes a stretchy and fit to size that may be better.

I love this product ! I purchased this item after looking for quite some time for a something that would help pad the wounds that were developing on my beloved 9 year old labs’ elbows. The challenge was finding something that would offer support, protection and padding while still staying in place and not limiting his ability to move. When it was shipped out the seller sent an email that provided tracking info and a link to contact them with any concerns. The quality was top notch - made of durable but stretchable neoprene with strong stitching and Velcro : easy to clean/ good padding material/long lasting and easily adjustable. It also has mesh pockets ( very clever ), that can hold small gel pacs that I ordered separately. The ability to insert the gel pacs meant more cushioning and the ability to provide heat or cold to my poor boys’ arthritis . Unfortunately I mistakingly ordered a size too large for my 100 lb English lab. I almost thought of keeping the too large elbow bandage , but tried contacting the seller using the link they provided. They responded that very same day and immediately took care of my error. This product was just what I was looking for : a quality product that provides protection and padding to an area that frankly is hard to protect. It stays in place beautifully; is adjustable; allows you to insert heat/cooling therapy as an additional function and the seller quickly responded to my own error. I highly recommend this product and would buy it again...but it’s made so well I don’t think I would need to!!

Took the risk of ordered knowing that if it did not work I would be stuck with it. It is a great idea and good quality, but will not stay up over my dogs hygroma. I have a 150lb English Mastiff, it seems to fit, but with in Seconds if falls down.

This appears to be very well made and probably effective, however my dog refused to wear it. She had some pressure sores due to being old (she's 14) and laying on hard floors, which for some reason she prefers despite my providing for her lots of cushy dog beds, blankets, etc. Anyway, I put this on her and she would not walk. She has some difficulty walking to begin with, so I think this product would probably be just fine for a younger dog with no mobility issues, but for a senior who already has a hard time getting around it may be too much.

We struggled a bit to get it to fit him correctly, but after a week or two with it, I think we finally have it right! He seems to be used to it now, and I think his calluses are starting to heal a bit. We'll keep an idea and try to remember to repost if we see a full healing. Very good quality product, I just recommend it comes with a set of instructions on how to strap it around the legs better. At first we had them too loose, so it kept slipping down when he laid down, but now we seem to have gotten it just right and it stays in place! Thanks!

I rarely write reviews for products but I had to for this one. This protector seriously changed my dogs life! I have a 8 yr old 110lb German Shepherd who refuses to sleep on anything but the cold tile in our house. After buying dog bed after dog bed and him refusing to sleep in them I didn’t know what to do. His elbows had become completely deformed looking and we’re cracked, bleeding, bald and painful. Nothing worked to relieve his pain. I tried wrapping them with cotton and Conan but nothing stayed on. This product came up one day after searching and although I didn’t want to spend another $85 on a product that may or may not help I bit the bullet and bought it. And I’m so glad I did! The first time I put it on of course he hated it but after he got used to it he seems to actually like it. It’s very well made and doesn’t seem uncomfortable at all. And with in 10 days I cannot believe the difference it’s made in his elbows! They are soft and not swollen anymore and the fur is growing back! He no longer sits up whining in pain and is generally a much happier dog. We now just put it on at night or when he’s at home alone and more apt to be laying down. Absolutely recommend this product to any dog owner dealing with their dogs laying callosities.

The concept is great but it just doesn't fit well. It's wrap is too big for my dog. I got an XL for a 111lb large Lab, it fits across his shoulders fine but the velcro piece for the legs is too big! Disappoint with this purchase.
