Great little filter
For the price and size, a very good filter. Silent and powerful. Easy to clean. If it makes noise, check the impeller.

Very strong
This filter works well, is good at keeping the water clear. However, it’s so strong that I can’t use the rainfall attachment without worrying it will beat up my tank inhabitants. If there is a way to adjust it that would be great, as is I use it without the attachment and have an air stone to increase the oxygen of my tank.

So far so good!
I just got mine and hooked it up. At first I was upset because it was LOUD and barely let much water through even on high! 🙃 But I kept messing with it and figured out how to pop it open and insert the little ceramic rings and also saw the little shield for the propeller was popped off. So I pushed that back on, popped the container of ceramic rings in and now it runs quiet AND has power!! This is on almost the lowest setting! It can really push out if you want it to which we might change when we get our larger aquarium!

Cool concept, pump is possibly weak/flawed
Pump output already decreased significantly after just one month. I kept the media clean and the tank only has seven small fish (grow out tank). Maybe I got unlucky, but I'm going to go with another filter that I've used before and know is reliable. I really like the concept and aesthetic, maybe a stronger/more well built pump would be better. Giving it a star due to the concept and variation in filter media in compact form. Also due to the pump being quite close to the surface, if you are away and the water level decreases due to evaporation, it could begin pulling in air and damage the pump. Something to keep in mind!

Trash filter, no suction after 1-2 days, constant low suction, output flow
I wish I can return this thing. It's trash! Don't waste your money on it. 135 GPH is complete lie! First, it intake cant suck anything, it's so weak you see debris just flows on past it. The output flow barely even makes a wave! Don't waste your money on this piece of trash!

No filter cartridges for sale for this model
I have a planted nano tank and the internal built-in filtration was comical, so I looked for a submersible filter and found this model. Hygger makes awesome lights. Pass on this. They don’t even make the replacement filter cartridges for this that I could find anywhere. Cartridges usually aren't my thing since better filter floss can be used instead at a savings, but for this model, the filter is kind of sensitive and doesn't seem to want to work without the stock cartridges. That they don't seem to sell at the moment. Today I rinsed off the filter media for re-using and it was nearly black so I cut filter floss I use for larger aquariums and then the filter stopped working. I threw the filter pretty far and now I need a new one. I would pass on this. Frustrating!

Works well but be ready to get wet and dirty with maintenance
Installled this in a 20 gallon planted tank and added an air pump since it had the inlet feature which is nice. It moves the water well and filters really good. Only gripe is cleaning the filter media. Removing it and cleaning everything out and putting it back is a task and disturbs the tank more than I like. May have to modify my lid so that I can put an over the back filter which is more convenient and less bothersome to the tank.
