Easy to install
I recently upgraded my home with replacement LED recessed lights, and I’m really impressed with the results. Here’s my review after using them for a few weeks: Installation: The installation process was surprisingly easy. These LED recessed lights were designed to fit into standard recessed can housings, so there was no need for any additional hardware or major modifications. I’m not an expert in electrical work, but I was able to replace the old bulbs without any issues. The instructions were clear, and the lights snapped right into place. It took me about 20 minutes to swap out four lights, which made the process pretty painless. Brightness & Lighting Quality: The brightness is fantastic! These LED lights provide an even, soft white light that brightens up my living room and kitchen without being too harsh. They offer the perfect amount of light for everyday tasks without creating any glare. The color temperature is exactly what I wanted—around 3000K (warm white), which gives off a cozy, inviting atmosphere. The difference between my old halogen bulbs and these LEDs is night and day. They’re way brighter, and the light is more consistent across the room. Energy Efficiency: One of the main reasons I switched to LED recessed lights was for the energy savings. These lights are incredibly energy-efficient compared to the old halogen bulbs I had before. I’ve noticed a slight drop in my electricity bill already, and they don’t produce nearly as much heat. That’s a big plus during the summer when you don’t want to add to the warmth in your home. Durability & Longevity: These LEDs are rated for 50,000 hours of use, which is a huge improvement over the older halogen bulbs that would burn out every few months. So far, they’ve been running for hours every day without any flickering or dimming. I can already tell that they’re going to last a long time. The fact that they’re energy-efficient and built to last makes them a solid investment. Design & Aesthetics: The recessed lights have a sleek, modern design that blends well into the ceiling. The slim, low-profile look is perfect for a clean, minimalist style. Once they’re installed, you almost forget they’re there—they fit flush with the ceiling and provide a seamless look, without the bulky appearance of some older recessed lighting. Drawbacks: One small downside is that they don’t dim as smoothly as the old halogen bulbs I had, and I did need to install a compatible dimmer switch to get the full dimming effect. However, once I got the right switch in place, the dimming worked fine, just not as smoothly as with the previous bulbs. Final Thoughts: Overall, I’m really happy with these replacement LED recessed lights. They’re easy to install, provide excellent brightness, and have made my home more energy-efficient. The long lifespan and clean design are great added benefits, and they’ve definitely elevated the look and feel of my spaces. If you’re looking to upgrade your lighting with something that’s both practical and modern, I highly recommend these LED recessed lights.

Outstanding
OUTSTANDING. These are a 1/4 of the price of some other brands. We replaced all our old can lights to update to these new more updated lights. They look more elegant and elvated the space removing the old ones and putting in these lights. A friend recommend this when we updating our kitchen. We could not believe the quality and that we did not need to use an electrician. These were so easy to install anyone can do it. We replaced about 100 lights in our home. Every room in the house. But the best feature is they do not over heat the space. There is no heat coming from them which helps during the summer. Love these and love the price.

Darn Close
So, I didn’t even know these things existed. I thought when your old can light went (or your wife wanted a new looking one), you had to rip it out and put in an entire new one. Which is a pain. Then I found these - genius. They literally are an all-in-one solution. You screw them in to your existing light socket and with the two spring clips (provided) you wedge the new can up in. From the layman’s eye - you just installed a new, fancy LED light. They turn on instantly (not like the original LED bulbs that had to light up), look great and we’ve already seen our power bill go down dramatically. Still yell at the kids about leaving their lights on in their rooms ... but that’s out of habit. Couple tips, and the genesis of my headline “darn close”. There are other versions of this product, one which we purchased at Home Depot from Commercial Electric. The Commercial Electric was slightly more expensive (it was on sale) but was definitely sturdier and allowed you to adjust the color of the light between 5 settings from Daylight down to Warm White. Note - the standard setting of the Sunco light was great for us ... so no need to adjust ... but if we wanted to there is no way to do so. Here’s the kicker you SHOULD READ - The Sunco comes with the clips I mentioned earlier. They work great for the cans that are essentially shaped like a paint can up in your ceiling. (Hopefully that description makes sense). We also had some older cans that were essentially like upside down bowls in the ceiling. So the first type of can goes into the ceiling deeper while the second is more shallow and or rounded. IF you have the first type of can - you’re all good with the Sunco. The clips will work just fine. If you have the second type of can - you should go with something like the Commercial Electric. It comes with a second type of clip that allows it to grip into the sides of the oval can and end up flush with the ceiling. The Sunco can get up in there ... but you won’t be able to get it fully flush with the ceiling. Summary - GREAT product, especially for the money. Unbelievably super easy installation. (Literally takes a couple min per light). If you want to adjust the light color ... go with Commercial Electric. If you have bowl shaped cans now that you plan on putting the Sunco into ... go with Commercial Electric. If neither of the two apply ... go with the Sunco product and never look back ... you’ll be happy!

Don't Buy - Horrible Flickering
Building a new house and most of the lights in the house were recessed lights (48) total. Around June 2023 I purchased 48 of these lights, installed them and for a minute they actually looked good. A day or two later I noticed that ALL the lights in the house with these recessed lights installed would flicker for 2-3 seconds. The flickering wasn’t very fast so it was very noticeable specially if all the lights were on so it would be 48 lights flickering. After a week or two I noticed that the flickering had a pattern, every 15 minutes on the dot they would flicker. It was so routine you could set a clock to it. Thinking there was no way all 48 lights could be bad all at once I called the electrician back who originally installed the electrical and he went through every wire, box, switch, ground and couldn’t find a anything wrong with the electrical. Called the power company and they came out to check everything as well, ran a new ground, replaced/upgraded the transformer, even put a monitor on the meter to see if there were any surges in the power, nothing, everything was fine. At this point it’s a couple months later, way past the return date and I’m at the Orange big box store and notice the recessed lights. I figure WTH, I’ll buy a 4 pack (the brand that starts with H) and see what happens, if they don’t work I can always return them. I pick a room that I know very well that has a flicker, replace the recessed lights with the new brand I got from the store and immediately the flicker went away. I went back to the store, bought a couple of 8 packs of the same brand, replaced the lights and again, flicker went away immediately. So now I’m way past the return date, stuck with 48 probably defective recessed lights and I know from other reviews I’m not the only one. If you’re thinking about buying these to save some money, DON’T they will end up giving you more of a headache (flickering) than they’re worth. I honestly don’t see how these are able to be sold on Amazon with how horrible the quality is and the risk there is of burning down your house. One more thing. When I was replacing these light I noticed that when I took them out they were HOT, I mean scolding hot which I’m sure can’t be good for anything close to the lights or your electric bill.
