I've been doing calligraphy of all types like copperplate, black letter, medieval scripts and improving my handwriting skills with spencerian. So I wanted to try something new and fresh with Japanese symbols and maybe learn a little about the language and how to write/draw the symbols. This book teaches you how to write the symbol and say the symbol, it has flash cards you can pull out for further learning and it teaches Hiragana and Katagana dialects. A must buy if you are interested in learning Japanese and writing the symbols.

Stick with this and you’ll definitely learn the two syllabaries. You can practice more with your own notebook until each one gets to be pretty much second nature.

starts off with brief explanation, then its pages of all the hiragana characters with a same page for pratice. the practice grid is after it shows all kana/gana to help brush up on characters. Flash cards at the end and look to be pretty damn good!

The book explained in detail how each character works so it helped me a lot. There’s a lot of writing space at the back and has flash cards included too.
