I got these at the recommendation of my son's Montessori school to promote his independence. They work great, are super easy to install/remove, and make it much easier for him to wash his hands without assistance. The crab part is foam and can easily be adjusted to change the flow of water. The extended piece is just plastic. The two pieces aren't fused, so you can separate them (though I'm not sure why you'd need to).
