Why does the shipping cost more than the item itself?

The quality of the lat bar is definitely different. They use 4mm-6mm thickness steel. 4-6mm is very easy to bend. Do you dare to use it for free? Marsafit Grip is 8mm thickness steel. You can use very safely.

Did you guys buy the full set or which two do you recommend? trying to grow my lats wider?

We did not buy the whole set. We have the wide bar, middle neutral grip bar and a close bar. I will add either the medium supinate or close supinate bar next. That's a pretty good variation for back training

What size would be best for a petite women for wide grip pull downs?

Not knowing how petite you are I would say suggest the 22 inch bar. I am. 5’6” male @ 180# and use the 28 inch bar. The bar is great one of f my favorite pieces of gear.
