Pyramex Safety HP500 Series Baseball Bump Cap

I bought the Pyramex Safety HP500 Series Baseball Bump Cap for work in a warehouse where full hard hats aren’t required but bumps are a real hazard. This cap is a perfect middle ground—it looks like a regular baseball cap but has a tough inner shell that protects against minor head knocks. The fit is comfortable and adjustable, and the mesh panels keep my head cool even during long shifts. I’ve worn it daily for weeks and it’s held up great. Plus, it doesn’t scream “safety gear,” so I don’t feel awkward wearing it outside of work. If you need lightweight head protection without sacrificing style or comfort, this bump cap is a solid choice. Highly recommend for anyone in light industrial or inspection roles.

Having a little protection on your head never hurt. This has a plastic top and sides which are removable for washing. Always a plus. The fit was a little wierd. Fits great backward. Bill forward it can be uncomfortable. At less than half the the price of box retailer these bump caps are durable, fit well. The plastic is thick enough and padded to provide enough protection to be useful. The design could use a few more improvements. The design of the plastic shell retains heat and makes your head sweat. The fit with the bill forward is akward and uncomfortable. The high vis yellow creates great visability while wearing it ans getting the plastic inner shell in and out to was is fairly easy making instillation a breeze. This is one product i wouldn't hesitate to purchase again since they are a 1/3rd the cost of box store retailers.

I purchased this cap since I am 6'2" and always bumping my head when working under cars. For the price its a great deal. The only complaint I had is the fit wasnt suitable for my head, which is rather large. I ended up removing the foam padding just in the front of the cap. This was easy to do with a small screwdriver to loosen up the padding and a utility knife to cut it out. After that the cap now fits very well. Im only suggesting this as another option if you find that the cap doesnt come down on your head far enough. The plastic liner still offers the protection and the cap now fits much better.

My husband uses this Pyramex bump cap as his work hat, and it’s been a great buy. I use this hat when I'm working under my vehicle. It has protected me from a few bumps and scrapes. It works well for the accidental bump against the vehicle or lift. I don't know how it would work for a more forceful impact. I don't plan on testing that either. It is a little warm in the summer but it is worth it for the protection. It does weigh more than a ball cap but I don't notice it.

Got tired of knocking my head when I was crawling under the house doing work. This cap is a comfortable way to keep the skin on my head in-tact. It’s an older house so I don’t know what’s under there and I don’t feel like an ER bill. It keeps you as cool as a cap can - not much, but I’d rather sweat than split my head open. Adjusted to my head nicely, seems of good quality so far. Supports my headlamp just fine. The bill also helps keep my glasses a little bit cleaner when I’m stirring up dust. Happy with my purchase.

This bump cap looks fantastic, and I wore it around for an hour or so hoping I would get used to it. My hat size is 7⅜, and even though the hat is adjustable in the back, the padding attached to the cap makes it more of a static fit. And for me this meant the cap pushed pretty hard against my forehead just below my hairline. It may just be the size of my head, but I had a distinct red line on my forehead where the padding rested with the hat on. Like fantastic, but the pressure on that one little spot caused it to be uncomfortable. Might just be my head, or this particular cap, but it didn’t fit right for me. Had to send it back.

Fits great not too heavy and has already saved my head countless times. Bought this after a bad head cut in an attic. This looks like almost any ball cap and hard to tell it is a skull protector for light duty work and bump guard. For more substantial protecting you would need a more traditional hard hat with eternal webbing and a much thicker plastic.

I bought this bump cap for a friend working in a tight-space industrial setting. It exceeded my expectations! This bump cap has protected me at work from the occasional risk I may hit my head on a sharp corner in the fast paced and narrow environment. It can take more force than I expected. There are times I practically never even realized my head bumped into something. This was a worthwhile investment for my safety and I have no regrets buying it.

Very comfortable and works well but the shell inside is pretty big so it won't look like a baseball cap but more like a British cop from the front. :P
