I have a Dyson V8 and the battery has been starting to run down a lot sooner. I got this which has a higher capacity. It came with the battery along with replacement screws, a screw driver and replacement filters for the intake and exhaust. The install was very simple, remove the three screws and the battery comes out very easily. Put the new one in it's place and replace the screws. While it came with replacement screws, I just used the original ones. They were a little longer. There is one screw on the handle and two under the hatch at the bottom (see pics) The replacement battery looks very similar with a few minor differences that you can't see once it's installed. The new battery does have a little rubber bumper patch that sits flush at the bottom which is a nice touch. Although the battery has a higher capacity, it's not any larger. The battery feels well made very similar to the original one. The replacement filters seem just fine, similar to other aftermarket ones I've used in the past. I charged it overnight and used it until the battery was exhausted. It ran a very long time I didn't time it but it was almost twice as long if I had to guess. Normally I can do the steps and the upstairs and a little bit of the downstairs before the battery ran down, when it was new. With this replacement I did that but also the basement, basement stairs the whole downstairs and it was still going. I did all the corners and went over a few places because I wanted to run it all the way down before recharging. TLDNR? Easy to install, quality made and lasts a very long time, worth the price. update: 1/1/26 I've been using the new battery for a little while now. It's still working well and lasts a long time. The battery lasts pretty long. I tend to run out of steam before the battery does. I use to do most of the house on regular power and a few high traffic area spots on max. Now I can do the whole house then switch to MAX and do most of the house again. More often than not I finish before the battery is exhausted.

Installed this into our 10 yr old v8. It works great, huge increase in run time of the vacuum Battery pack fits nice and easy to install. I would recommend this battery pack. Have used the vacuum for over three weeks now with no issues. Old battery would die after vacuuming 75% of the house. Now I can vacuum the whole house and have almost full bars.

So far so good . It took me a good while on low power to attempt to run it down . Which only happened on full power . This replacement battery is pretty darn good . It's the same size as the one I replaced which seems to be comparable to both weight & size which makes a viable comparison , compatibility wise . Long battery life & if you know which end of a screw driver to use , then you can replace it yourself . Ease of replacement , remove 3 whole screws , pull off the old one , install the new one , replace the screws & try it out . Make sure to fully charge it . There's always a YouTube install video if needed .

This is a great product and comes with everything you need to dramatically improve the performance of your vacuum. It even comes with a tiny screwdriver to simplify the battery installation. The instructions are clear, and the battery is a perfect replacement for the original one. I was noticing that the run time was getting progressively shorter before needing a recharge and this new battery completely solved that issue. And the filter replacement seems to give it more power.

We only had our Dyson for about 2 or 3 years when we noticed the battery wouldn’t hold a charge. This was easy to switch out and the charge holds for days, weeks even. Made a very big difference for our home.

My dyson started shutting off after about 5 min of run time. Then I found these replacement batteries. I took a chance thinking this might help. It DID! Those dyson batteries evidently do not have a long life. This was a lot cheaper than their replacement and has been working great since installed. The kit comes with everything you need (even a screwdriver....it sucks, but works) and it's only a few screws to take out to install. My machine runs as good as new now. PS. Just make sure you're getting the battery for your specific model. Mine was for a Dyson V8 Animal

It was an easy install and fit/finish looks good. Battery life was much improved over a 5 year+ battery. I haven't tested the limits but it feels as good as the original, maybe even slightly better. Time will tell on longevity though. So far, I like it with some caveats. It does come in the black plastic that the other pictures are showing, which I'm not a fan of. Also it isn't as responsive as the old battery. It seems to start and stop late compared to your trigger pull. The review that talks about the action switch/plunger length being different may be on to something. Lastly, the screws that it came with are junk - try not to strip the original screws.

Glad I bought this replacement battery, it’s a huge improvement over the original Dyson V8 that would die after 10-15 minutes of use. This new battery lets me do the whole house on a single charge and doesn’t quit after 30 seconds on the high setting. It was easy to install and came with several replacement filters as well. It charges easily with the original charger. Recommended.

My old battery was barely holding a charge, but this one works perfectly. It fits like a glove and the runtime is back to brand new. Definitely worth the price!

Just received this battery and installed it on my Dyson V11 right away. It worked right away with no issues. Fit is perfect and it clicks in securely just like the original. Battery life is strong — I can clean my whole place on one charge again. Capacity is bigger than the original one. Charging works normally and it doesn’t overheat.
