De La Cruz Gentian Violet - Violeta de Genciana 1% First Aid Antiseptic for cuts, scrapes and Burns, 1 FL OZ (12 Bottles)

I have been using De La Cruz Gentian Violet for years. Ever since my kids were little and it has never failed me. Any time they developed blisters or mouth sores (like from stomatitis or hand, foot, and mouth disease), I would carefully apply a small amount to the affected area, and within a day or two, the blisters were completely gone. It works so quickly and effectively! What I love most is that it’s gentle yet powerful, and a little goes a long way. It’s definitely a product every parent should keep on hand for those unexpected minor cuts, sores, or irritations. I always make sure to have a bottle ready in my first-aid kit. Highly recommend this product, it’s truly a lifesaver and one of those old-school remedies that still works wonders today!

I bought these to make the "Purple Ear Wash" (google it) for dogs. Alcohol, Gentian Violet and boric acid powder. Simple to use and very cost effective to make yourself but you can buy it premade, here, on Amazon if you prefer for a much higher price, I have a black Labrador who has had non stop ear infections for her entire life. She has had many vet visits, cleaners and creams, allergy pills, as well as dietary changes with nothing seeming to help for very long and sometimes not at all. It always comes back. Well, now we have moved to a different state that is much more humid, more often than where will lived before and this has exacerbated the problem. In my effort to help her, I recently happened upon a Labrador website where someone posted the recipe for this Purple Ear wash and decided to give it a try, So far, so good. I have been just using cotton balls soaked in the solution to clean out her ears instead of pouring the solution in her ears like the directions stated because I have done that before (with other things) and liquid seems to get trapped in her ears and takes months to disappear. Anyway... some parts of her ears are actually a healthy white color again... which I haven't seen in a long time. I don't expect miracles because she has had this problem for a decade. But I am very hopeful. As a side note, I decided to use this on my long standing on again/off again intertrigo (Ladies with large Ta-Ta's know what I am talking about lol). It has worked better than anything I have ever tried! This combined with Baza Antifungal Cream is a one-two punch. As for staining... I accidently left some of the solution in my marble sink overnight and had two big purple splotches that wouldn't wash off... I sprayed it with a bleach shower mold/mildew cleaner and let it sit for about 5 minutes and it came right off. I've also heard of people using plain rubbing alcohol and even hydrogen peroxide to remove purple stains, just depends on the surface that is stained. My point is although it does stain anything it touches, the stains usually can be removed. The better option is to be careful how you use it to eliminate/minimize staining in the first place. For example, if I ever do decide to pour the solution directly in her ear... this will definitely be done outside on our patio where she can shake her head and let it fly without fear of it staining the entire room LOL

I bought this because it said antiseptic. After several months I thought I would try it on a torn cuticle...you know the kind that is irritating. Well I put it on twice in twelve hr period and wow...it was gone with no pain or discomfort. It just disappeared. I've tried it 3 separate times and it has worked every time.

Excellent product

I used this product after taking prescription medication to get rid of a yeast infection on my nipples and in my breasts. I was on a antibiotic for mastitis and it caused a infection of yeast in my breasts. After I recieved this product I immediately put it on, and within using this product for three days straight, three times a day the yeast infection went away! I recommend this product to anyone who has troubles with yeast infections. It will turn your nipples violet, and your milk will have a tint of violet in it as well. It did however upset my babies stomach, so I am only giving this product a four star. Worked wonders for the infection, but upset babies belly. I am also a pumper, my daughter never latched on and doesn't have thrush. Great product for yeast infections though! Would recommend it! Also if you are using this product for a yeast infection make sure to wash your nipples, before and after you feed or pump, unless of course baby has thrush than feed baby and wash after. Assure that your nipples are completely dry before applying this product. Allow it to dry onto nipple before placing pads on your breasts. Also make sure to change pads when your breasts let down! Best of luck to anyone else using this product for their babies!!!!!!

Started having this ongoing sharp pain and sensitivity in one boob. Weird. Looked it up and figured my symptoms match w/ a candida infection, so I got this as many recommended it. I'd rather use this than go to the doctor. Sounds like prescription anti-fungals don't work that well. Plus docs always assume bacteria and who knows what they'd prescribe. I used this 1 to 2 times a day for about 5 days, and it seemed to cause some relief, but still had some pain. Reviewers said to stop using it after about 5 days, so I did and tried an OTC antibacterial cream, just in case bacteria had been the issue. But that did not help and the pain was reverting back to being much more intense. Tried to make a doc appointment, but couldn't get in for about a week, so I started using this gentian violet again (after having taken a few days off). I thought what the heck, this pain is pretty bad, so what could it hurt? Worst case scanario, I have to explain to my doc why my boob is purple. Used it for about another 4 days and now my boob feels as right as rain. Cancelled the Dr. apptmnt. I'm really glad I found this remedy. I did not know that this same item I had used for microbiological gram stains would help infections. It's pretty cool. As far as applying, you really don't have to worry about it rubbing right off, like a cream. It is a liquid and it dries pretty fast. Obviously, keep in mind if you use it like I did, your bra is kinda gonna turn purple, so don't be wearing your most expensive Victoria's Secret. As far as people complaining about staining while applying: I just dipped a Q-tip in it, and applied and had no issues. Sometimes I got a little bit on my fingers, but it comes off your skin pretty easily if you use some tea tree oil soap. Did not have an issue getting the bathroom all purple or anything like that.
