The new design is softer and it fits better around the body and neck. The medium fit my dog. It’s made of the same outer canvas/nylon as the old model but this one is much softer, more comfortable to wear. I’m also enclosing a photo of my dog with the old model so you can see how this new one fits better.

This unnecessarily expensive life jacket is somehow still worth the money.When we go to water that isn’t our pool, I always put a life jacket on my dog. As she’s outgrown her others, this is her third jacket - first of this model.They all hold her up - they’re made of buoyant materials after all, but this one is exceptional in that it supports all parts of her body rather than just her chest. I have never felt so confident with her swimming in a wavy ocean than I did when she wore this life jacket.If you spend a lot of time in moving water, this is definitely the right life jacket for you.

It’s definitely not the cheapest option but the materials and design scream quality. We have a 21 lb goldendoodle and the XS fit her perfect. She has about a 13 inch next ( for collars). Measure the dogs chest and follow the guide. on the vest, the neck is adjustable as is the chest portion. Does exactly what it’s supposed to do and has been perfect for the kayak and beach.

I bought the older style of the Ruffwear Float Coat in a Medium for another dog years ago and now that my current dog is grown, we bought the new style in a Large. I don't dare give the medium away because it's in excellent condition after many uses and I have it on hand for fur friends to borrow. The new style is still very simple to fit and take on and off. My dogs have been very good swimmers but I want them to be comfortable, visible and safe while we kayak or paddle board in rivers and lakes. The handle and leash attachments are sturdy. They can swim or float at their leisure and the orange color makes her very visible to other people and vessels.

They look great. I bought 2 of these for my labs so they can be more safe out on the water. Their chest is 29" in diameter so I thought the mediums would fit. Though I could have made them fit by adjusting the straps, it would have left a portion of their belly exposed and not covered by the life vest, which would seem to hinder floatation and also allow for rubbing of straps on their belly or things getting caught. I have reordered in large and will update my review when I get them. But I would encourage you to get the next size up if you have any doubt.

This is a very well made life jacket. Fit my dog like a glove. I was worried it would be too bulky based on the picture. Instead, I found it to be very sleek and my dog had full range of motion while wearing it. She is a small terrier mix (17lbs) and wears and extra small (XS). She likes to SUP and kayak with us and occasionally jump in for a swim. The handle on the back makes it very easy to lift her in and out of the kayak and pull her back on to the SUP. The jacket is bright and high visibility. It also has a small clip ring under the handle to attach a leash or other safety line. She wore her life jacket out of the house in the way to the water and I clip her into her car seat using the clip ring on her life jacket. I also liked that it seemed to dry quickly and protected her from the sun. 10/10! My expectations were exceeded (and they were pretty high given this is a pricier life jacket option). #worthit

The Ruffwear Dog Life Jacket has instilled total water confidence in our Sheepadoodle. She has always enjoyed being on or by the water, but now she LOVES to be IN the water. Since adding this vest to our adventures, she now chooses to swim beside our paddle boards for long stretches of time, resulting in one tired girl at the end of the day!Though I was hesitant to follow the size guide (in my head she was at least a medium), the small is a perfect fit for her 26" chest and 15.5" neck. The quality is hands down the best of any vests we looked at and I have full confidence this will last her many years!

Purchased for a GB Bullie puppy. Order fulfillment within 2-3 days. We purchased a size too big (L), anticipating growth for our puppy but there seemed to be enough adjustment room to go down a size. A medium was a good snug fit. Return and refund was accepted and fulfilled promptly.5* for product and seller.

Have yet to use this item in water, but it is well made and of excellent quality.

Unfussy, good handle, cute

Diese Schwimmweste ist wirklich gut verarbeitet und passt unserem 6 kg Cavalier King Charles in der Größe XS genau richtig. Er toleriert die Schwimmweste gut und der Auftrieb ist auch genug. Hatte bei anderen günstigeren Modellen gelesen, dass der Auftrieb nicht immer stimmt. Ich kann diese Schwimmweste trotz dem hohen Preis wirklich weiterempfehlen.

Für Labrador beim SUPen gekauft. Top. Hund fühlt sich damit Sicher auch wenn er mal nicht aufpasst und unter das Board schwimmt. Kann prima auf das Board gezogen werden. Ansonsten schwimmt der Hund sehr gut ohne Weste, beim SUPen oder Boot fahren aber ein Must have.
