Small and pretty
Great small kettle that takes up little space on your counter.

Works well.
I love how fast it heats up the water, in like 2 minutes. You have hot boiling water.. works great. Very lightweight

I read through most of the reviews for this kettle. Some reviews almost turning me away, but this has worked great for me at the office. I needed a smaller electric kettle and this fit the criteria. It heats and boils water in about 3 minutes, its light and travels easily. Its easy to use as well. A good purchase for the money

I've had this kettle for almost 9 years
In 2016 I paid $21.03 for this Bodum kettle. It's still going strong.I use it to boil water for coffee and tea. Also use it to top off water for pasta when I've misjudged how much I need. Don't want to ruin the process by pouring cold water into already boiling water. Use it to clear drains, too ... after the drain cleaner's done it's work. It's really a handy tool. The only maintenance it wants is an occasional descaling with vinegar.I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one.

Working well so far
It's quite heavy, but I am otherwise very pleased with this product.

When it’s time for a cuppa
I already own this little kettle in blue but the color was jarring to look at because it was really bright blue so I treated myself to the black which went well with the color scheme in my coffee nook.If you do drip coffee, or in my case, Teechino, and you like just one cup of tea or coffee this is a great little tool. It heats to boiling pretty quickly and turns itself off when ready.I’ve had the blue one for years. Daily use. Still works perfectly every time. I’ll am anticipating the same with this one.

Single Serving Kettle
This kettle is meant for the office. There are two keurigs at work that everyone uses but no one ever cleans or descales. I have been at my job for almost six months now and I have been fearful of the keurigs just because I can only imagine the crap that will be floating in hot steaming cups of water. This kettle is my solution. It holds enough water to make ramen at my desk or to quickly prepare pho noodles when I bring pho to work. Because it is not temperature controlled, I would only recommend it for making French press, instance coffee, or black tea at work if one were to purchase it for making beverages rather than heating water for food. I store this little kettle in a large drawer above my desk with my other mini appliances and it takes up less space than my mini soup pot. I will warn that the lid needs to be properly closed before boiling and pouring your water. Be gentle with it, don't just treat it like it's a larger kettle because it's not. I have not had any issues with it but I have ready other reviews stating the latter. I take good care of the items I spend money on in hopes of making them last so if you want this cute little kettle to last, treat it well and descale it as needed.

Imposing counter presence
About 15 years ago I bought the cheapest plastic water kettle available at my local Big Box. A couple days ago, it finally failed. For a replacement, I wanted to go for a trusted brand, glass envelope, simple controls.Since Bodum has been my coffee maker for decades, I went with this one. It is a good-looking design but the size makes for an imposing presence on my counter. However, with a single use I have observed the following issues:- Fill level indicators are small and do not stand out. I will probably need to mark the 1 liter level with some thermal tape on the adjacent plastic case.- While ideal water temperature for coffee is around 200 degrees F, the five-position temperature setting only allows 194 degrees (90 Celsius) and Boil (212 degrees F nominal). So the kettle is suitable more for tea making than coffee. Even though the dial turns smoothly, it is NOT a continuously variable control -- there are only the five discrete settings.- At the Boil setting, the auto shutoff fails to function at my altitude where the boiling point of water is 202 degrees F. Instead, it just roils furiously until I manually shut it off.- The lid hinge is all plastic, and not too stout looking either. This is a guaranteed to break at some point. The good news is that, at my altitude, the Boil setting will heat the water to 202 degrees, an ideal temperature for coffee brewing. However, auto shutoff will not function.
