My daughter's math teacher recommends to buy ti-84 plus graphing caculator. is this ti-84 plus ce graphing calculator will do same?

The calculator is NOT the same - it is SO MUCH BETTER. If you are familiar with the TI-84 family of calculators then you will be right at home with this one. But here's where it shines. If you use any of the statistics functions this model has a stat wizard which shows you the fields that need to be filled and then pastes your entries into the appropriate location in the function. For example, when you select tcdf( a screen appears with lines for lower:, upper:, and df:. After entering those values, say, 1, 2, 5 you select "PASTE" and what then appears is tcdf(1,2,5). Press "ENTER" and you get the value .1306... If you are not familiar with statistics, that's okay, just know that this avoids having to look up the syntax for the function in the users guide. The calculator also has the option for mathprint, which presents fractions and radicals in a way that is visually more appealing. I used a TI-84 Plus for years, and when some of the keys started to get a little sticky I decided to try the new model. As much as I loved my old TI-84 Plus, the CE version is just great. The extra cost is well worth it.

What is the battery life before needing recharged? How long to recharge?

I conducted a test where I left the calculator running on max brightness non-stop until it died. It took over 30 hours before the battery was completely drained. Since no one runs their calculator non stop for 30 hours straight, this equates to a month of normal use at max brightness. If you want to extend it to two months or more, be sure to keep the brightness turned down. It takes 1-2 hours to charge from a dead battery.

Does it come with a cover? (like previous TI-84s)

The Teacher 10-Packs with "School Property" calculators do NOT include the slide covers; only the retail-packed singles do.
