OSiS+ Mess Up - Matte Styling Paste for Medium Control & Flexible Styling

This hair gum paste was used by a hair salon I used to frequent, and it's always been working good for them, so I decided to buying it for myself. I also discovered that there are several levels of hold strength, so I will start with this level 2 for now and see how it works. The paste is very moldable, and soft, so you can easily apply to your hair and style away. Judging by the softness of the paste, you wouldn't think that it will hold, but once you have thoroughly combed the paste through your hair, it will keep the style. Unlike gel or spray or glue, this won't make your hair a hard clump, so you can still re style it a bit after applying and it has dried.

Lasts a long time as you don’t need much. It gives a great messy look with a bit of volume. Nice scent!

Why did you ruin such a good thing? I have been buying this product for years. I purchased in March 2024 and it came in a different looking package (not a big deal), but the product inside is completely different! Gone is the good smelling, perfectly consistent product I was used to. This new stuff smells terrible and is much harder. I am done purchasing this product and looking for an alternative!

Wow! I bought this on a whim hoping it would be just what I wanted to define, mold and add texture to my pixie cut without being too sticky or stiff. The gamble paid off because this product totally met my expectations. I have been using Osis Thrill...which I love...for several months. Mess Up is much softer, silkier and is less sticky while it does just what the name implies. I like my hair to be styled on the edgy side without being too drastic and Mess Up does just that. I highly recommend this product and all of the other Schwarzkopf products. Their quality can't be beat.

I’ve been using this for the last few years and while I love the product, it does have a tendency to lose its soft paste-like texture and turns into a harder consistency that’s a lot more difficult to mold and work with. Below is my new one, and my previous one from about 5 months ago. I keep it in my bathroom mirror, so, not sure if there’s a way to mitigate this issue.

I have fine hair, short cut and I like the messy look. This product works well, not heavy, not greasy and easy to apply. And you don't need a lot to make it work. Only thing I didn't care for is the smell. It's not a cologne smell, kind of a weird odor, I don't find it appealing, but the product works really well for fine hair.

In this sweltering Florida humidity, I had to chop off my hair this year and I enjoy second day hair and the occasional faux hawk. . . This paste has a nice amount of gold while still allowing you to restyle or run your fingers through your mane without getting those fingers stuck or overly sticky. Cool little sardine looking package. A little dab’ll “do”! Appreciate that I can apply while hairs wet right out of the shower, or after my locks have dried without making the hair seem greasy. Thus product actually does what it claims to-it works wonderfully!!'

This product was recommended to me by my stylist, and I can't say enough about how much I love it! Definitely a great alternative to gel-type products, and my hair doesn't feel stiff to the touch like with those products and is thus able to maintain a more full-bodied appearance despite thinning on top (can't sculpt away genetics, unfortunately). Also notable is that a little bit goes a long way, so the entire package should easily last weeks (or longer), depending on how much hair you have to work with. Overall, if you're still reading this I'd say you've found an excellent alternative to other styling products, and highly encourage you to give it a try. You won't be disappointed!

Hace años que uso este producto, pues es el único que he encontrado (que no sea de peluquería, de esas marcas que no venden al detalle y al consumidor) que me deja el cabello manejable pero sin rastro de que haya producto, y sin ese rastro horroroso a gomina... Porque ya no estamos en los 50, gente! Yo me aplico un poco en un dedo, lo masajes ligeramente entre las palmas de la mano, hasta que siento que se ha ablandado, y lo comienzo a aplicar con ambas manos desde la raíz del pelo hacia arriba. Luego me remuevo todo el pelo, como para hacer un lío del pelo (como cuando nos despertamos) — que no por nada se llama "Mess Up" la variedad, que significa "Desordenar" o "Hacer un lío". Luego comienzo a darle la forma que quiero. (Se pueden encontrar vídeos de cómo utilizarlo en YouTube, si se quiere.) Mi pelo es basante delgado y solo se puede domar con un producto fuerte. Durante años no usé nada porque me dejaban el pelo tieso — como el película "Algo pasa con Mary", recuerdan? — o me lo dejaban como si una vaca le hubiera dado una lamida! Pero este producto ni se nota una vez aplicado. Al ser una pasta matte, el pelo queda como si nada, incluso sin perder el brillo natural, pero queda domado. Yo encuentro que mientras más uso, más dura el efecto. Pero, claro, mientras más uso, más "parado" queda también al principio. De todas maneras, nunca queda tieso, sino que se ve natural. Y, de todas maneras, aun usando una cantidad moderada, si bien durante todo el día no queda igual de "parado", sí que mantiene la forma y no se baja por completo. Lo que yo suelo hacer es, de vez en cuando, pasarle la mano, levantándolo, devolviéndole la forma. En fin, es un producto que recomiendo. Y por el precio vale la pena al menos probarlo, a ver si les viene bien.
