They are not really non stick, but I use them( as does the wound care clinic) on open sores/ scrapes etc. they are truly amazing! I take my mother to wound care clinic where they first used them on her legs, they help prevent infection as well as heal them. I now do the would care myself and buy them on Amazon, who had the very best price!!!! I love these and never run out of them!!! Hope this helps you

Q: Do these have an adhesive border?

Silver alginate/Antibacterial Alginate with Silver are only used as primary dressing in wounds with exudate and infection or odor. They will need to be kept in place either by using another an adhesive dressing on top of them (such as island dressing (bordered gauze) or silicone foam dressings) or by a gauze wrap or self adherent wrap (if used in limbs).

Q: Is this the same as silverlon?

Both products have ionic and metallic silver which give them the products their antibacterial effect. The difference is in the absorptive material. The absorptive layer in Areza antibacterial alginate and silver alginate is made of calcium alginate derived from seaweed. The absorptive layer in Silverlon is made of knitted continuous nylon fiber or rayon (depends what reference you read). Thank you.

The are 5 individually wrapped 4.25x4.24in pieces. If your wound is smaller you can cut smaller the put whats left in a ziploc baggie until next use. Depending on the exudate, and type of wound, it may not need to be changed for 2 to 4 days.
