My previous system, the Shark Tooth failed after three years of intense use. The Shark tooth had one advantage, since the external controller was very small, and blended perfectly with my full face Shark GP Carbon Race-R. The electronics were in a recess inside the helmet. This had been a major perk for me. However, the Shark Tooth had one major flaw: the speakers volume, even at the maximum could not be heard over the wind noise in highway speed situations. Something motorcyclists have to contend with all the time. The HuanGou was right out better. Maybe the larger speakers played a role, but the audio was decipherable even at highway speeds, provided I wore my wind noise filtering earplugs. The one major issue I had, which triggered a return, was that the microphone could not be disconnected from the control unit. The assembly speakers and microphone are connected to the main controls via a USB-C plug, but they are all wired together. Since I only use the communication system for audio guidance, I did not want to have the microphone boom inside my helmet. I thought I could put it in a way that would not disturb me, but the bonnet was touching my mouth, and I did not want that. My Shark tooth had the microphone boom and speakers with disconnects. I never installed the microphone boom.

Really easy to install. DO NOT lose the charging cable!!!! It uses a mini USB almost impossible to find a replacement. I've used it a few times now. The FM radio gets good reception. Sound quality is good when stopped. If you want to hear what the other person is saying while moving give it up. The unit won't go loud enough to not be drown out over the wind noise and I have a fairly quiet helmet. But over all the price makes it worth it. 5 stars Because the seller contacted me right back to help troubleshoot. I later figured out that the volume wouldn't adjust at all. The seller was great about the issue and got it all fixed.

Purchased in 2022 for my Shoei gt Air 2 and still the only set I've used. Speakers are pretty good and clear for the price, if there was an upgrade that would add a little bass I would definitely make the purchase. When I get calls some say its difficult to hear me and sometimes the call volume is super low when riding but music has no issues. Batter life is solid and I have no issues connecting to my phone. I'm sure improvements have been made to later models so I'd definitely recommend.

I'll admit that even though this had multiple good reviews, that I was still skeptical about it being a quality unit for this price....but it truely does work nicely. The install was no harder than it should be, and I love the sound quality when playing music or talking on the phone. I didn't buy it for the intercom feature, so I can't comment on that. The only thing that took a moment to get used to is speaking on the phone, your voice sounds louder to yourself when you're wearing a helmet & the foam wind noise cover quiets your voice a little, so at first I was talking too quietly. But once I got used to talking at a normal voice level people could hear me perfectly clear. The newer style USB-C port for the speakers/mic & for charging nice. Just unplug from the unit when setting the helmet down & you won't damage the plug or port.
