GBB-0028 - TopTie Tally Counter with Lanyard –Simple Clicker Keeps You Honest in a Crunch
This is GoBag Item 0028. The Ultimate Tool to Count the Critical Tasks. Think of it like the odometer on your old pickup truck – nothing fancy, no GPS nagging you, just reliable numbers telling you exactly how far you've gone. This little digital tally counter is the same deal: dead simple, tough enough for real use, and perfect for keeping track when your brain's too busy surviving to remember every detail. In prep work, counting isn't optional – it's what separates "close enough" from "we've got this covered." Picture you're cutting a bunch of paracord lengths for snares or tie-downs. Each one's gotta be precise, say six feet, ends whipped or melted. One click per piece, and bam – you hit 20 without second-guessing if you shorted yourself. Or you're rationing water purifications: click every tablet or drop, no guessing games when supplies are tight. It's killer for building good habits too, like that baseball coach tracking pitches to avoid blowing out a kid's arm. Click every time you knock out a push-up set, every glass of water downed, or every distraction you ditch (yeah, that endless scroll on the phone). End of the day, those numbers stare back at you – proof you're stacking wins, or a kick in the pants to step it up. Shopping runs? Hang it around your neck, click as you toss critical items in the cart – ammo cans, batteries, whatever the list demands. Get to checkout showing 8 out of 10? Better circle back before heading home short. In a real scramble, forgetting one key thing could turn a good plan sideways. Design-wise, it's stripped down smart: one small button to wake it, one big honking button to count – easy to mash with gloves or cold fingers. Optional beep if you need the reminder (hold the count button a few seconds to toggle), loud enough outdoors but switchable for quiet ops. No subtract feature? Smart move – keeps it uncomplicated, big buttons, less to break. Reset's just the power button held down. Battery's a cheap LR44, swap it tool-free, and they're everywhere. Lanyard's solid ribbon, hangs the display "upside down" on your chest so when you flip it up, it's right-side readable – finally, someone got the basics right. For under ten bucks, this thing punches way above its weight: no apps to drain your phone, no fragile screens, just pure function that won't quit when the power's out. Grab a couple – one for daily prep tracking, one riding permanent in the bag. Because when what matters really needs counting, this is the no-BS tool that delivers. Five stars easy – highest bang-for-buck reliability you'll toss in a go-bag.

Very compact & easy to use, loud chirp
This works well & is easy to hear if not on soft material like a bike seat as it muffles out so i took a screw in hook and cut one end off and shaped it in a vice to fit in the screw holes so i can now always hear it.

Works almost as seen in pictures
The key thing for me is that the on/off and reset are both shared by the same button, but the way one picture is worded implies you can use them separately. So to turn this item off, you have to first press and hold for three seconds to reset the counter, then press and hold for another three seconds while the tally is on 0 to turn off. There unfortunately isn’t a way to just turn it off and keep the memory of what was previously tallied. This isn’t something any of the pictures are lying about, but they also don’t explicitly say it isn’t a feature. I use my tally counter at work and it would be nice to turn the device off while I’m away from my lab bench. That aside, it taps well, toggling the sound off is a handy feature. The viewing angle of the LCD is poor and hard to see at certain angles when flat on a table so I had to prop it up for better viewing. Does the job overall.

Works for me
I have no issue with this counter. I use it to count laps my laps when I walk. To’ eliminate the beep use a long press on the button. It’s simple enough to figure out. The cord is long enough to hang around your neck. The color matches my headphones. So far I have no problems or complaints.
