Garfield Fat Cat 3-Pack #5

Fun books! Great color graphics. Kids love them! Only criticism is that the cover is not strong enough to handle this big of a book, it just wants to come apart.

My son is not the most "into school" kid-- and he was really struggling in reading-- Was even in Reading Recovery in first grade (last year) for awhile-- And then he discovered Garfield comic books at the library and fell in love with them!-- and he just tested in the 78percentile (meaning, he reads better than 78 percent of kids in our district for his grade)! He LOVES these books and I've bought him a few of these 3-pack books on Amazon (way cheaper than anywhere else!) as gifts for him, just to say "Good job, keep going!" Really, for how thick and colorful the book is-- this is really a nice price. While they (all the Garfield 3-pack books-- which there are many!) are generally paperback, it's a nice sturdy binding and, unlike some of the other books that kids his age tend to be attracted to, I know the words are spelled correctly, the grammar isn't funky-- and there is nothing too racy in it! I say if you can find something that gets your kid reading that meet those criteria-- GRAB IT!

It's a Garfield comic strip collection in full color. You can't get better than that!

I introduced this to my granddaughters and we love it. The humor is timeless, and the illustrations give me a happy opportunity to provide them context for life in the 1980s.

If you are a fan of fat sarcastic cats and laughing, you should probably buy these. Even if you don't like fat cats, you will still probably enjoy these Garfield comics. My wife doesn't even like cats and she loved this as a Christmas gift!
