No cover, not sure of potato eye remover, it does peel everything with ease, it is the best one I have used.

I don’t know the exact weight but practically nothing.

Q: is the plastic part bpa free?

I don’t know about the bpa, but it’s a great peeler and the plastic doesn’t really contact the food. I don’t put it in the dishwasher because it can easily be rinsed under the faucet.
