Great quality!
I purchased some bulk freeze dried foods that came in #10 cans. I wanted to preserve most of them, but have a bit out for easy access. These bags worked perfect for storing the extra until needed. I’m very pleased with the Mylar thickness, plenty durable for shelf storage or even on the go. The design of the MRE bags is nice, as the wide opening makes filling or using them a breeze. The zipper closure works great and makes a good seal. For the longer term storage quantities, I used my clothes iron to seal up the tops. I’m sure an impulse sealer is quicker and easier, but the trusty iron did just fine.

My FAVORITE freeze dry storage bags
Why I love these bags: (1) They are the perfect size and shape to store an individual meal. (2) They have a re-sealable "zipper" so that leftovers can be saved. (3) They're sturdy and thick and made with quality. (4) They stand up by themselves when I'm filling them, and when I'm reconstituting. (5) They're easy to seal and don't melt to pieces. (6) I can reconstitute with hot water right in the bag. (7) This set is an entire kit, with the labels, bags, absorbers. Perfect for my needs. (8) Easy and convenient to use. (9) They're not cheap, but are a great value, considering the quality. These are pretty much the same size/shape as the expensive freeze-dried hiking/camping meals are packaged in. Seriously, these are the best, and I have them on subscribe. VERY recommended!

All around great product.
These are the perfect size for a single meal. They sit like a bowl, ziptop, perfect for camping or outdoor activities. Thick mylar, stand up on their own.

quality storage
I haven't packaged anything in them, but the size is perfect for my needs and the thickness of the mylar is propper for long term storage. they will hold an adequate serving for a backpacking meal.

Great for backpacking meals!
These are great! We use them with our dehydrated camp meals to split them up and heat seal the bags with our vacuum sealer. My wife won’t eat an entire meal typically and then we’re left packing out the remaining food. But with these we can split them and write what they are and how much water is needed with the labels that are included. They’re about 1/2 the size of your standard dehydrated meal bag and take up less space, and safe us money on backpacking meals. They function as they should and seal really well with the vacuum sealer heat. Definitely recommend!

Less room than it seems
I like this product. Well-built and not easy to open. It loses a star because it just doesn’t hold as much as it looks. Make sure to spread out the bottom! Great starter set.

Perfect for my freeze dried MRE's
These bags are great for my freeze drying needs. Super thick mil ensures longtime storage. These bags are the perfect size for my chamber vacuum sealer. These are my go to bags when I make MRE's. Gusseted bottom lets the bags stand up when I re-hydrate the meals in the bag.

We just recently tested these bags on hiking trip and they worked perfect. They feel like quality bags and so far the freeze dried food stored in them have had no issues. It is a little harder to close the bags when almost full since they're wide and not tall. But love the width for eating on the trail.

So far these look great. I have yet to try them in practical use as I just got them. Comparing them to the reusable ZipLoc Endurables (blue silicone bags in the photos), the MRE bags are larger than the medium size ZipLoc for both "container" and "pouch". The mylar material is thick and could probably withstand a great deal of abuse. I have both FoodSaver and Mesliese vacuum sealer devices. I can't vacuum the bags due to the built in zipper on the MRE bags; it won't form the proper seal for the machines to suck out the air. However, both the FoodSaver and Mesliese machines can heat seal the MRE bags. The bags exterior measurements are 21.5cm (width) x 13cm (height from bottom to zipper) x 8cm (depth).

Perfect size for a meal. These bags are fantastic for keeping freeze dried meals "fresh" and dry!

I'm very happy with these durable bags. They are just big enough to accommodate my homemade freeze dried meals which average around 4oz and are only meat and vegetable based, no fillers. I use lighter bags for most of my packaging because these ones are cost prohibitive. I wish I could get a better bulk deal than just 30 bags. Even with the included oxygen absorbers these bags are adding over $1 Canadian per meal! Nonetheless, these heavy duty mylar bags are what I will use for my most premium products. The oxygen absorbers are supposedly 400cc but are way smaller than any of my other 300cc, about 1/3 to 1/2 the size. The absorbers are conveniently packaged in groups of 10 which is perfect, as I usually produce 10 meals per freeze dry cycle. I will comment on the efficiency of the absorbers once I have had a chance to use these pouches after some decent storage time. So far these seem to be a very quality product, as they should be for the price. Hopefully larger bulk purchases will be forth coming for bringing down the individual price a little. I hope this is helpful.

These are top quality mylar bags. They are gussetted so cold more than the look like the would. Good thickness on the mylar but do heat seal well If you are stuffing things in a pack the durability is important. With the import duties, they are pricey but you look ar your needs.
